The Best Travel Destinations in My City - Steemit Engagement Season 4 | Visting Ox-Bow Lake Pavilion by @Sahmie (#Burnsteem25)

I congratulate @steemit-travel on being among the lucky ones selected for the Steemit engagement challenge season 4. Cause of my love for travelling and sightseeing I have long been a member of the Steam travellers family.
For this week's challenge, I would love to take you to a very popular site in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, Nigeria. As things may be, I didn't have to go alone, what's the fun in it? Thus, I went with my brother from another mother @Preye2.

Down here in yenagoa, there are numerous places one can visit to have leisure time, but for this very occasion, we went all out to the Bayelsa state's most popular Tourism Centre, OX-BOW LAKE PAVILION.
It is a waterfront that presents a seaside view of the city equipped with facilities that makes tourist thrill and give that euphoria of being there at all times.

Not forgetting the local traders lined around selling local cuisines with various BBQ grills to choose from. A cool and calm lake with nature that makes it desirable for pleasure-seekers and travellers.
It features the Yenagoa boat house, for those who love to take boat and water bike rides and other recreational facilities within the lake park. Open for visiting at any moment of the day or year, it is a place anyone and everyone visits to enjoy the best of the best Bayelsa has to offer the fun-seekers.

OX-BOW LAKE PAVILION is located at the corner of Yenagoa town, the capital city of Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
What3words LocationConnected by a neatly tarred road that leads to the roundabout in front of it, at the edge of the lake, edged with several barbecues, suya and drink joints, not forgetting the Unique Aquarium just beside it to give visitors a memorable experience of the lakeside; an adventure that will remind them to come back for more.

As I earlier said, there are more than enough facilities for the use of everyone. Ranging from the Boathouse to outdoor games such as Snookers and Table Tenis boards. Not forgetting the local restaurants nearby.

I couldn't help but enjoy a pool game with the guys.

Transportation depends on the distance from which one is coming. I currently reside at Akenfa, here in Yenagoa, so it cost me the sum of N 250 (1.62 steems) to use a Rickshaw (popularly known as Keke or Tricycle) to the place and another N 250 (1.62 steems) to go back home, taking the Alamieyesegha Road route making it a total of N 500 (3.21steems) for transportation.
The Gate fee (Ticket of entry) is rated at N 1,000 (6.41 steems) per person.

| UNIQUENESS OF THIS PLACE |

This place is an extraordinary and fascinating tourist centre, the reasons being that it is located just by the river bank, therefore welcoming cool and fresh ventilation even on the hottest of days. Secondly, It is a friendly, peaceful, quiet and joyful place for anyone be it the rich or the middle class without any segregation, and its ever-friendly employees make everyone feel welcome.

From my personal experience of things, I would rate this centre 3.5 as I think it's a wonderful place to visit during our leisure time, and at the same time, some facilities need renovation.

Of a truth we really had fun, Oxbow lake is a must visit for anyone that is coming to Bayelsa. Most of the facilities are affordable and fun-filled. Thanks for sharing, goodluck in this contest.

This write up is very detailed, and at the same time full of photos. I can see that place has a lot of things which will make it to be lively. Wow... They make swimming free, that's cool. I wish you good luck in your entry.
Yeah, it's free, if you have the guts to jump into a lake flowing with current, that means you definitely can swim, besides its a free lake that runs across the length and breadth of yenagoa and Bayelsa at large.
Could be very great to see some photos of food but detailed prices in both currencies were widely complete. Good job with your post. How nice is this place to play pool. 🎱

Definitely, everyone is welcomed with open arms. No matter their social status. For a moment, I thought the meals were expensive, so I didn't even attempt to order any plate. It was after I went somewhere to eat that I regretted not eating there. Anyway, the Ox-bow lake pavilion could be a place of Revenue to the Government if management is on desk.
