It has already been several years since I was in Warsaw and I had almost forgotten what a great city it is. When I went through photo folders on my computer last week, I had a look at the photos from Warsaw. It made me remember how magnificent the Lazienki Royal Park is. It is huge. With a size of 76 hectares, it is the largest park in Warsaw. We chose to spent half a day here to enjoy the park and the beautiful palaces. This park and palace complex is in my opinion able to rival many of the similar parks in Europe. The park itself is worth visiting, but the palaces are absolutely beautiful.

It was in the 17th century that the park was established and it was in the year 1764 King Stanislwa August Poniatowski bought the place. The park was called Tazienki, which means «bath» because of a badepaviljong that was located here. During WWII most of the buildings were burnt by the Germans, but some years later they were rebuilt and the park could open up to the public.

THE WHITE PAVILION
A beautiful pavilion built in 1774 by the order of the king. This building is a reminder or memento of the King Stanisław period. Changes has been made throughout the years and also some rebuilting processes. Since the building wasn't completely destroyed during WWII, it is still posible to see som of the original wallpapers. Some of these date back to the 18th century. We did not enter the building. I am not sure if it was open to the public when we were there.

The main buildings are located either around or at least near the Łazienki Lake. It is also on the lake you will find the famous Łazienki palace – the Palace on Water.

THE PALACE ON WATER
One of the most popular atractions within the park, must be this architecural gem - the Palace on Water. The lake is divided into two parts by an artifisial island. The Palace is located on the island. To get to here , there are two bridges connected the palace to the rest of the park. The building served as a royal bath house, so it was also called the Bath Palace – a Royal Bath House.

It was from the year 1674 that this baroque building belonged to the court of Stanislaw Herakliusz Lubomirski. The last king to whom the palace belonged to, was King Stanislaw August Poniatowsk. He was also the last king of Poland. He spent time here during the summer months, but did more than that. He expanded the pavilion of Lubomirski’s Bath and made the it one of his residences.

The park contains many other famous buildings. Some of these are the Old Orangery, Sybilla's Temple, an Egyptian temple etc. We had seen the photos and names of these buildings in a brochyre, but we had to choose to visit only a small part of the park and only a few of the palaces and pavilions. We knew we would not manage to get around to the whole park. During the king's time, the park was used for both cultural events, sporting activities and other recreational activities. The park is still in use for the same purposes. A park that is worth a visit, but you should set aside the whole day. Then you get some time to sit on a bench and just enjoy what you are watching.

Is that bird for real? Wow, colored feathers has impressed me. The water surrounding the building is acting like a mirror, which is perfect for a great artistical photography in Steemit. Thank you for such quality of content. Would be nice to know the exact location by coordinates. Regards ✨

Oh yes! that bird is real. It's a kind of a duck I think. I have seen them before, but don't know the name of it. Here is the location of the park.

Ohhhh thank you so much. That's a good reference. I don't know their name either, but I am understanding there's a particular bird in Iceland that are really attractive to eyes and beautiful too. 🌟✨

That's right. I think I know which bird you mean 😊
