As a salesperson I should always attract customers, serve them in the best way and help them in any way I can whenever I can. Today, in the afternoon, just before the end of my shift, a customer came to the store looking for a specific color with a specific name and code. I offered him the predetermined colors that we handle in the store and with the option to prepare the color in the different bases, classes and shades that we can offer.
When the gentleman started talking to me I could tell he was a foreigner, his accent was very different from ours, I did not know what it was until I did some of my work after hours. The gentleman had at his disposal several colors, but none came close to the one he had and less in a picture he had on his phone, I explained him the difference between the shades of an image on the mobile, an image of an Instagram post and a physical image, my intention was to give him to understand what can vary the color in different areas.
After that, the gentleman tells me a similar color of a recognized brand of telecommunications, I asked him to see exactly where it was, he invited me to go at the time, but I was in working hours and I had to finish my hour, therefore, I told him that I would visit him as soon as he closed. So I did, I went to the store and had a better conversation with them. The problem was that the paint they wanted to use and forced them to paint the store is used in a vinyl. At that point I understood many things, among them that the telecommunications company had sent them to change the color three times and on top of that they had to paint the inside of the store.
These situations allow me and the store to sell a little more and help those customers who usually arrive asking questions and need us to clarify their doubts and help them choose the right color, of course, the customer is always the one who will make the decisions. Those tiny relationships that we usually make with the customer usually make them come back or recommend us. Starting next week we will be surveying our customers to find out how they heard about the store. Today we asked the question to the last two customers, where the first one told us that he saw it through Instagram and another one through a friend's mouth who recommended us for preparing paints and the deal.
