Day 947: 5 Minute Freewrite: Monday - Prompt: the new normal
I have been contacted by different parties regarding the Freewrite Community. Each one accused the other - and a bunch of associated accounts, to be spammers.
As of now, a bunch of accounts are muted in the community.
I don't have the time or willingness to investigate a bunch of accounts and determine if they are spammers or not.
When I started the Freewrite Community, it was supposed to be for people participating in the Daily Freewrite and Weekend Freewrite.
The Freewrites are hard to fake.
From here on out, I am taking the community back to be for Freewriters only.
If your account got muted and you are a true freewriter - writing to our daily prompt- drop a link to your post here. Make sure your post has a link back to the Freewrite prompt you are using. I will unmute you if you do that.
As always, your chance to get an upvote from me is the highest if you drop a link to your post in the comments of this post.

- Start writing
- Use the hashtag #freewrite
- Publish your piece (include a link to this post if you wish)

Two things I do a little differently. I just type "timer" into google and it pops up a 5-minute timer. I also type directly into steemit. I also rarely use a photo, don't I? So that's three things.
Please read, comment and vote (if you have voting power) on each others freewrites as much as you can. Especially if you are new to the platform, you will be surprised how many friendships are formed by reading and commenting on each other's work!

Writing help
A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link
Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.
A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

- If you are ready to get serious about improving your understanding of the English language check out @majes.tytyty blog. He has lots of useful information to understand words and their roots better. You have to go way back - as far as August. But it still is all there.

I really don't understand the rules; you suggest the theme and each person develops it in their own way; or you write a topic that captures you! I really would like you to clarify!
Yes. that is how we have done it for now 947 days. You get a prompt and you write to the prompt. There is a link in the post to a longer explanation.
In short.
You see the prompt.
you set your timer to 5 minutes.
you write without stopping whatever comes to your mind to the prompt.
Fix your spelling and post.
Make sure you have a link to the prompt post in your post.
This way, it is for sure original and not something copied from somewhere else.
If you use an image, make sure it is legal to use.
it needs to be free for commercial use.
