Is it time for another solar Project in Nigeria?
If I was to answer the question on the heading of this publication, I will say YES !, let me tell you why.....
Four months ago the first solar steem in Nigeria was installed sponsored by the steemit team and worldsmile after some months of fundraising. Did you miss that? Don’t worry you can read it here : Steem Solar PV Is Finally A Reality In Nigeria, Thank you For The Supports
After using it for a while, there was a need to upgrade it to a higher capacity due to an increase in usage and limited sunlight, and just two weeks ago, the steem solar upgrade was installed and is working perfectly right now!

And now?
If you could recall, while posting the steem solar upgrade announcement some months ago, there was a little announcement at the bottom of that content which shows a follow-up project which happens to be the next solar project in Nigeria....guess what? It is time, to wake up!
A brief information about the project
We are about to install a 3.5KVA,24V solar PV system in a secondary school and also buy 3 desktop computers.., most of the students wrote their WASSCE ( West African Senior School Certificate Examination) last year and mid of this year without having full computer knowledge due to no electricity in the facility.
Most times they have to hire a big gasoline generator to power a few computers owned by the school of which some are not functioning…, unfortunately. And most times, the generator disappoints as well.
We all know that computer knowledge is very essential in this 21st- century and nothing should stop anyone from having those basic ideas.
And so sustainable power in form of electricity is needed to train these young ones to carry out their computer lessons/ practicals.
Once this project is carried out successfully, this will help these students to learn about computers and also learn about solar photovoltaics, it will be a great thing for these youngsters to learn about this for the first time at least from the steemit world.
Maybe I could carry out a few lessons with them on solar Photovoltaic for a week after installation.
Will the Solar system be Secure at the School?
The answer is yes !.... The school is protected and fenced around. The school has security who work by shift. And I planned to have a strong discussion with the head teacher and the security personnel one more time.
How will the fund be raised?
First of all, we need to understand that this project is sponsored by @pennsif as part of his contribution to the development of the community, it is part of his off-chain project.
However, we also seek support from all users who will love to support this project. We also want to call the attention of the steemit team SC01 and SC02 for their kind supports on this new project.
Note that we would continue to use the hashtag #solarsteem25pc whenever we set beneficiaries to the @smilenigeria account which is our donation account.
Perhaps @hungry-griffin is still hungry for some great things and development like this, I will be glad for your support too in other to realize the needed fund to actualize this project.

Note: The price of steem is based on the current price of today 8th November 2022
Prices can rise since they are imported. Globally prices are unsteady these days, especially in Nigeria. So, the prices mentioned above are based on the 8th November 2022 price.
From the budget above, we need 8,859 STEEM to carry out this project successfully.

Many government properties in this part of the world have been neglected over the years which led to the damage of working equipment while there was no replacement in some cases. This sounds like a good way to rejuvenate dying facilities in the community and add more value to them. Great project and I will be willing to support this move. Good luck, @ubongudofot.
