Mistakes are a normal part of being human and doesn't define a person. Learning to handle them demands a lot of strength and courage. Taking a mistake negatively can lead to reduced self worth, isolation, self pity amongst other things while taking a mistake positively can lead to opportunities for growth as we learn from our mistakes.

How do you view mistakes?

Mistake is the product of effort that didn't meet an expected goal or end. A person who makes mistakes is a person who has given himself/herself to put in effort into achieving a goal, only to fall a little short on the way.

What mistake do you make recently?

I was supposed to take an exam last week. Due to a late material, the exam was postponed by two weeks so everyone to take the exam get the material. I got the material and did my best to study it. The exam was for a job opening, and there were other smaller openings around. I said if I was to consider them, I'll have reduced time to focus on this. I placed all hope on achieving this exam, given the set guidelines by the examiner. To qualify we were to score a minimum of 80%.. The day came and after pausing my life for a few weeks, we were faced with 200 questions in 120 minutes. I panicked due to the time and decided to take sometime to get composed again. Knowing fully well that seeing the time drain so fast made me panic, I didn't help myself, I was focused on the time and it was running. The exam ended and there was silence, things didn't go as planned.

What do you learn from the mistake?

I learnt a few things from my mistake. One of which was that, I could have gotten the available while seeking that which was not yet available. I also learnt that being calm regardless of a situation and focusing on other things instead of that which would make me panic would have given me a better chance.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, it feels like I'm starting over. People who put in effort learn lessons and know where to improve on if such a situation reoccurs and so mistakes aren't the worst thing to happen as there are lessons learnt. However, these lessons are very painful and stinging. Reflecting over it at a more relaxed time can show one where to improve on. And with time, the person who made a mistake would be better and achieve the set goal.

I'll like to invite my friends @ibesso, @rossnenye @soyariadnna and @aspiya to take part of this contest.

Sometimes life derails us - and knowing what you are thinking now, perhaps the next time you take it you will have a lot more confidence to write the exam without too much anxiety over the time.

We may not always understand the way things work in life, or how things unfold... but I think it is generally wise to trust that it was in your best interest this time around.

I wouldn't look at it as a mistake, but rather that you have the opportunity to do much better next time @triple-a :)

Thank you so much @jaynie. I'll take it as an opportunity to do better next time. Thank you for your comforting words. I hope it was for my best interest.

Your most welcome

Thank you, triple-a, for sharing your experience so openly. Your approach to mistakes as opportunities for growth is a valuable lesson for all of us. Your story reminded me of the importance of facing challenges with calmness and openness to other possibilities. I am honored by the invitation to participate in this contest and look forward to delving further into this topic. Best wishes for the contest.

I eagerly anticipate your post and would be thrilled to read from the start to end.

Even if mistakes presents opportunity for growth, it's really not easy when a big chance or opportunity was missed. One could literally pity himself for a while and some don't escape it. I remember how Escobar died as a result of a mistake, how people got angry and murdered him.

I hope we can all turn to see the places to improve on later on

People learn through various medium and mistakes is one of them though not preferred. To overcome tension in any exams is to prepare adequately by studing the right exam materials strategize on hiw to manage your time and having confidence in yourself not forgetting the-God-factor. All thes best

It's always better to be calm than to be worried about the unknown. The good thing is that you've learnt your lessons and such a mistake will not repeat itself. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, I appreciate it.
