A Love Letter Across Time

Hello my dear steemian friends,

as soon as I saw the topic "A love letter across time" organized by @damithudaya for steamforbetterlife, I enjoyed it and decided to participate in this contest, whether I get the prize or not. It doesn't matter if I don't get it, but I will express some thoughts buried in my heart for my wife.

"I'm old now. You know 80 years is a long time. As I sit at my desk and close my eyes, the memories of my dear wife just come flooding back to me. Years have passed. We grew up together." In the same locality, in the same school, and fell in love at a very young age. You know, 50 years of loving and caring for each other is a lot and I cherished every moment of it like it was yesterday.

I pick up the pen and start writing something for him. I want her to know that my love for her will never die and I hope to be back together in heaven."

my dear sweetheart,
Today I was missing you a lot on the day of our granddaughter's marriage, I still remember the golden moments of my life spent with you. You know, I had never told you before that even a year before our marriage, when I went to your house for the Holi festival for the first time, you were sitting on the steps of the courtyard of your house full of colours, looking at your face in a mirror.

You were removing the black and green colours from your face . I was also loded a lot of colours and till then you didn't even know me. At that time your elder brother used to be my college friend and it was because of him that I went to your house.

Seeing you in that day , I thought that I don't know who this lovely innocent girl is because you had entered my heart. Later I asked my friend about you and he told that you were his sister only. At that time the era was not very modern, so I was a little scared that you were a friend's sister, what would he think if I told her that I liked her sister very much.

But then I started going your house making various excuses to befriend you, and my efforts started getting successful, you too started coming closer to me, and then seeing the opportunity, I proposed to my friend to marry you. Your family was already liked me and we were married in a very short time.

You won't remember what went through my heart when I was leaving you to your mother to complete my studies while walking you gave me your handkerchief which had the scent of your favourite scent, I put that handkerchief Wrapped in a cloth bag, I kept it safe and whenever I got a chance, I used to take it out and smell it and feel you in front of me.

I still have the letters you sent me, which you wrote to me when we parted.

I see every single moment spent with you in front of my eyes whenever I look at something which was you likes too much .

You gave me a lot of happiness and belonging in life, but I am very angry with you that you left me very soon. Now life has become useless without you, I just want to die soon and meet you in that heaven and I can love you for these past 10 years which were lived without you .

After your departure, the children have also become busy with their family and work, they too do not have any time to understand the condition of their old father's heart. But I don't have any complaint with anyone because it used to happen in every generation.

It is not in my power to write more now, and I just pray to God every day to call me in heaven and make me meet my lovely wife again.
