INTRODUCTION

The ending of every story is incredibly essential because it implies whether it is marketable or academic fiction. There are therefore different types of endings that are substantial, which are; happy, unhappy, and indeterminate endings.

Happy endings are when the protagonist solves their difficulties with either themselves or somebody else. This kind of story usually adopts the ending “happily ever after.”

An unhappy ending on the other hand usually talks about the setback of humans and the missteps that they might have which would transpire in disturbing results. Then the indeterminate ending is the one which doesn't have an obvious result.

MY NYSC CAMP STORY

I’d like to say that for a moment, I was extremely sad that I went to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation camp cause it was indeed the longest journey of my life going to NYSC camp. A 2-day journey from my place of residence in Bayelsa state to the NYSC Orientation Camp Dakingari in Kebbi State. From my first day in camp, I was frustrated with the registration process I had to wait for about 5 days to carry out my registration.

After a while, going to the NYSC Orientation camp became one of the best things to happen to me at that point and I do not regret it even with the military drills and punishments. Like me, most people hated the camp, at least 80% came to like Camp like me as we got to know each other more.

In truth, from the onset, I was very tense, part of which was because I live in a state with much more friendly weather and atmospheric conditions. Apart from the distance, this is one other reason I was sad about coming to camp.

Moving on… I came to make friends with a very bright and prospective young man from Ondo State, a different language and culture from me, but seeing how tensed and sad I was, he took me under his arms like a little brother (I might even be his elder by age), but who cared, this single act of his improved my mood a 100 fold.

My Newfound friend Bright

I must say, I still find it hard to make new friends so I zeroed my mind on that aspect. I just decided I had all I could ask for, from Bright, my newfound friend. But at this very moment, to the glory of God, I have made three fantastic friends on camp (Bright, Idrees and Seyi) all of whom as Yorubas.

And several sporting activities in camp helped improved my mood, as I am a fanatic about sports.

As things stand, the Orientation camp will be coming to an end by the 22nd of November and I must say I will certainly miss my newfound friends as we all applied for relocation to different states, and even if the relocation doesn't pan out the way we want, we will be posted to different Post of Primary Assignments (PPA), now I am left with the sad feeling of which I came into camp with.

THE END...

CONCLUSION

Anything that has a beginning, welcomes an end thus, "The End" is an inevitable aspect of every beginning. We can only hope and work towards a positive ending so we don't live in regret but in joy.

Though traveling can be seen as education because we live in our environment, and the people we are used to, then go to new places where we have no one and also with different weather conditions, and we would learn to adapt to both the environment and the people.

It's good that you can make friends at the NYSC camp, I know my Yoruba people are nice and accommodating.

Your PPA posting will come out fine and even if you guys weren't posted to the same place, I'm sure you will meet amazing people at your PPA too.
