INTRODUCTION

Most times, the words "if only" is used when someone looks back and realizes his mistake and acknowledges that he would have had a better result if he made the other choice when the chance presented itself to them. Below is a story about myself.
IF ONLY

Being a young and vibrant teenager, I had a lot of dreams and hopes. Dreams i was so sure they would come to pass and that nothing could hinder them. Of course i also had my goals or should i say my mission to achieve my vision alongside these dreams. But there was this experience i had which nearly halted my dreams.

I have always dreamt of being a medical doctor and my goals were to be outstanding in all my academic endeavour.
It was on this faithful day, on the 19th of June which was the day i was to write my utme exam(an exam written by Nigerian students to get into the higher institutions). I was already prepared for this day with everything within me. I read every topic i was required to read. I felt just too ready for this exam.

The day was as bright as every other day, probably even brighter. With the sun smiling at me. When I got to the exam hall, we were asked to stand in a queue. After standing for so long under the sun we were divided to two groups which were center one and center two. I reluctantly asked someone what Centre i belonged to and he told me i belonged to center two. So we(center two)were asked to wait for center one to go in and write their exams first before us. And so i went to stay somewhere not too far from the queue anyways.

I waited for about one hour before it got to the turn of my center, we were then asked to queue up With so many persons in front of me. It was about getting to my turn and i couldn't wait to get into the hall and pour out all i had in my brain as answers.

Then i heard someone shouting from behind me "hey what are you doing in this line don't you know you belong to center one". As soon as I heard i checked my paper and confirmed it was true, I belong to center and i have been standing on the wrong queue all this while. Without even looking at anybody's face i quickly ran to the exam hall. On getting there i was not allowed to sit for the examination. I begged, i cried but all to no avail. Then i knew my fate that i had missed an exam for one full year and would have to wait till the next year to sit for that exam. Then i thought to myself "If only i knew i would have asked the exam officers around to know my center".
IN CONCLUSION

Always make sure you get to the right source whenever you need help. Cause a wrong help is even worst than no help at all.

Wow... Your story is quite a painful one, being that you were even present at the venue but just missing your placement. I bear your grief as even after begging, they still didn't let you in.

I enjoyed your work, therefore I must commend your efforts, but there are still little things that are needed to be done, things like;

  • Learn to write in short and conclusive paragraphs, as it wouldn't make your work look bulky and unsorted.

  • Try to justify your work also, as this would also beautify your work.

Trust me, if you can do all this, your articles will look more presentable.
