PROMOTING STEEM THROUGH THE CAMPUSCONNECT PROJECT 29/05/2021
We took promoting steem to University For Development Studies(UDS) Nyanpkala campus this Saturday, 29th May, 2021. This initiative was started by @mcsamm and we want to be pioneers and agents of its success as well as promote steem.
The program started around 10:27am with our MC, Farhan(@farhmade) telling us the program line up or event line up.
We kick start with our first speaker, Nafik(@silencewan) presenting on what steemit is and how it works. He explained when steemit was created, by who, how it runs as a blockchain, how to sign up, and how to save and use our keys. We took the newbies through the sign up process following @silencewan’s presentation. Some of them have done their achievement one tasks and others due to time constraints and other factors haven’t yet. We’re following up on them to make sure they do soon.

Next, Rubilu(@rubilu123) presented on how to explore and join communities, and how to post in the communities you join or subscribe to. He explained the post editor in detail.
Roma(@roma078) took us through basic guidance on the achievement tasks next. He took us through how to write the achievement tasks and the need to do it as well.
Abdul Kahar Gunu(@abdulkahargunu) took to the front next to explain rewards gotten from steemit. He explained steem, steem power and SBD thoroughly and how each of them are gotten. He also taught them how to how to earn rewards and how to redeem their rewards
Abdul Manaf(@hydra1) took us through how we can make money from trading our SBD for Steem and then for GHS through exchanges. He talked about investing in steem through power ups and trading steem tokens for fiat.
It was my(@zology69) turn to do the last presentation. I informed newbies that voting wasn’t guaranteed and I told them about ways to improve their chances of getting voted like producing quality, avoiding plagiarism, being consistent and using the right tags. I told them about self plagiarism which a lot of people don’t really know about including myself until recently when my country rep educated and adviced against it. I also taught them how to use the betterlife tag and it’s themes.
We had a closing remarks from @massachussets and an introduction of the Steem Tech Club, a women empowerment and support program to help train and improve women’s experience with IT in our Technological world today, from @magcarnie’s thoughtful and creative thinking.
We took some drinks and snacks after and had a couple of pictures together after the meetup before we departed.
It was a sucessful program and we recruited some newbies as well as learned some things from people’s presentations ourselves.
I understand the feeling of feeling deserted by the person who signed you up and not getting votes. Because of this I am powering up to be able to support new comers I recruit. They’re newbies of steem through me and I will do my best to help them in their steemit walk. I hope everyone else does the same.
It was wonderful doing this with you bro, hope to have more of this to promote steemit in the future,
Congratulations...!!! You Got Upvote 100%
