Greetings to everyone in this community. Power up! Power up! Power up ! Is emphasized. What is power up? What is steem power? Does steem has power? Pretty funny right. But do you know Power up is the building block of steemit? Just like the foundation of a house keeps a house strong and firm, power up keep the steemit ecosystem moving and makes it firm .

Power up is the basis for our being in clubs like #club5050 #75 and #100. Without power up, we won't be in these clubs. So what is power up? This is the first question I'll like to deliberate on because it's becoming a point of emphasis today in the steemit ecosystem.

What is power up

Power up is a process in the steemit platform mostly done in the steemit wallet. This is the process of sending, saving and locking a particular amount of steems in our steem power.

It is the conversion of steems in your wallet to Steem power and I'll show you how this is done in the steemit platform. What is this steem power we convert our steems to?

What is steem power

Steem power is likened to a bank account. The more moyou have in your bank account, the more influence you have in the physical world because what you have in your account determines if you can purchase a commodity or things you need.

It is also likened to a the net worth of popular musicians or actors. Your net worth determines how influential you'll be in the ecosystem. It's your net worth and popularity that gives you influence on certain things. So steem power is a token which symbolize how much power or influence in the steemit platform. It is also the measurement of how much influence a user have on the platform.

The more steem power a person has, the more influence or power he has to control posts and comments in the ecosystem. Take a look at our curators, the value of the steem power gives them influence on posts we make and comments.

Imagine you have 45k Sp and someone has just a thousand steem power. You have more influence or power in the platform than the person with a thousand steem power. It's just like you have 5M in your account and another has 100 thousand.

Who among the two can buy a land? The one with 5M can have superior influence on that land than the man has 100 thousand Naira. That's the effect of steem power and it can be increased through the process of Power up as mentioned earlier.

Does steem have power?

Yes oh... Steem has enough power through steem power. Currently, I have 28 steem power of which I'm still growing it to reach its peak. I love power up.

Are there satisfying benefits of powering up

Yes there are numerous benefits of powering up. One of such benefits is that the more steem power a person has the more power he has to influence a post or comment in the steemit platform.

• Claiming rewards: Is there any cryptocurrency that you buy and save in your wallet that gives you more rewards to what you bought? Although there are many but most of them can't be compared to how steem is done.

So it won't be as compared to Steem coin. The more steem power you have, the more rewards you claim and these rewards are in the form of steem which would be added to the ones you powered up. Imagine you bought 5000 steems and powered it up.

You'll be claiming rewards worth almost a steem or more than a steem .So in a month or more, I can have up to 5100.... Meaning that 100 steems were added. This is impressive right?? That's another benefit of Power up

• Delegation: Many don't know the importance of delegating steem power to communities. Delegation is just like lending someone money to use and do work. You can collect the loan anytime depending on the time frame you told the person.

If you delegate to a community, you are helping them build their steem power and by so doing, your votes percent would increase because of the steem power you delegated and the most important thing is that you can collect it back at anytime.

• Creating new accounts more efficiently and lot more.

We are advised not to power down due to the reduction in steem price and conversion. Steem would surely rise so let's keep on pushing forward. Would powering down increase or add to the growth of steemit?
