The Steemit Curator Selections started! Just like with every election it promises to be a dirty fight. Are you ready? Grab your mug of coffee, beer, wine, potato chips, burger, or hotdog. Here we go!
Did you have a look at steemitblog? If you like to know more about the rules set for the curators of September you can look here and if you are not too lazy and like to know more or have a good laugh take a closer look at the comment section. It is what I did for the fourth time and I made some great screenshots to share with you.

They say the first impression counts... the first impression? Is it about Steemitblog or the comment section?If it comes to Steemitblog the post is very basic and it doesn't look very exciting which is totally fine with me (no 3-5 not fitting pictures which distract from the text) @steemitblog did well.

Sorry, I have no shorter words to express what I am feeling. Awesome is not the right word, it feels as if I ended up in the slum of Steemit. Honestly, I feel lost (and that's why I left and refused to click on links @aneukpineung78).
I can't believe my eyes if I see what is written and also how some beg literally to form a team with them. I wonder why they are so desperate but also what is behind this. What drives them to curate? It feels as if I am surrounded by people who do not really care and can hardly write let alone understand what is written. Is the translator at work or shouldn't a translator be used? I start getting weird thoughts, thoughts that start mingling with other things I coincidentally discovered and I had not the intention to see or write about.
Okay, this morning I read the comment section again and I was able to laugh about some parts but I also discovered that not everyone is allowed to curate. Some people are ignored, no matter how frequently they ask, and Steemit wanna-be curators are not polite.
Yes, I applied but that was not out of need, or what I want desperately like @patjewell said. You can ask those who told me to apply, but also those who asked me to join their team what I told them, and if you ask the present teammates...
Trust me if they tell you I give them a hard time they don't lie or talk behind my back it is true. At this moment I told one of them that if an edit was not made I would write I step out of the team and why. This is not because I am a monster and they are bad people but if you build and work as a team you should be a team and follow the same rules.
What we wrote in our election program is what we all stand for (no, most words aren't mine) and this means we have to make a plan, practice, and work it out.
I told them as well that I have other things to do and they all have to work daily. This is not a one-day task and we all have a life, can deal with a blackout, no wifi, sickness, exams, you name it.
It baffles me how easily Steemians who begged me to join them said this is not important and we can always talk about it later, if, perhaps, we'll see...when, and... and that's what the comment section shows me and worries me. I can't work that way and live with such an attitude and those who asked me or dumped me without telling me first also know they can never ask me again. A word is a word and if you can't stand for what you say it's better to keep your mouth shut.
I truly wonder how that's going to work. Are those new curators simply going to upvote the first 30 posts they find to make a good impression and their job is done within 15 minutes of clicking? Is the mailbox or Discord already filled with Steemian's requests to upvote you? Do Steemians leave their links and is it a simple click without checking how or what?

Who is it you are working with? Unlike most of you, I did some research if it comes to all those who asked me. No way I answer if asked with 'okay'. I told my present teammates to do the same. Trust is great but we all know that if on the internet we are easily fooled, tricked, and lied to. It happens to me so why shouldn't it happen to you?
Next to that if you work hard on your reputation it's not cool if you end up in the gutters because of someone else.
Lately, I meet more and more Steemians being victims of plagiarism, scared to death, forced to power down, or no longer dare to write. Now you know why the good content writers hide or leave.

Just like with politicians, we all have expectations if it comes to curators. They should be open-minded, able to recognize what is good and not discriminate. Next to that, we like to believe they are committed to Steemit and with that to all users. Being bribed, threats, or emptying the Steemit Bank (once a community moderator gave me that feeling as I donated to @worldsmile interesting is that those who do it for real are not noticed) do not fit to the role of a moderator.
You who applied, are you honest? Are you able to fulfill the role and search for those great content writers or is it more like upvote, upvote, upvote, and promoting and rewarding yourself?
I finally clicked that link @aneukpineung78 and I shouldn't have after I saw the wallet of the community because that was not what entertainment looks like. What I saw didn't make me happy and I passed the message. You know what the interesting thing is? No one I asked thus far answered my burning question:
Does an administrator of a new community, who never upvoted, engaged, hardly moderated, and takes the money of the SEC contests to transfer this to her own binance account make a good curator.
I assume the answer is clear and it doesn't matter if most of what you post is fake if you steal other's pictures as long as you team up with someone with a good name.

Great move, I am happy with it but this brings me back to the newbies asking to curate. You know those who are really new level 25. Of course ignored by everyone so I had a look at their account. Indeed just started no post, nothing. Perhaps they are scams, perhaps they try to fit in, so we could try to at least answer that can't be so hard or do you wanna-be curators only focus on yourself? A bit of carefulness... caring would be a good sign if you want to read and look for good. I doubt that will happen because the good ones are ignored. Does this have something to do with nationality?
I like to state here that I belong to a multicultural family and the positive of that is we are chameleons and do not see colors or nations where you seem to see them. It's not good to shut out certain nations because you don't like them and it makes you a bad curator! And yes, I have Chinese in my family and I am proud of that.

Hola, gracias por la mención, quizás mi traductor no sea el mejor pero siempre he tratado de desenvolverme de la mejor manera con el ingles a pesar que no es mi lenguaje materno, lo que trate de decir es que mi equipo estaba completo pues en conjunto con enamul17 y el-nailul decidimos volver a postularnos y el "de encontrar buen equipo" se lo deseaba a el, no hablaba por mi misma. En ningún momento quise ser despectiva o algo similar, al contrario siempre he sido una steemians conocida por su simpatía. Espero todos mis compañeros tengan éxito en sus postulaciones y a ti mis cordiales saludos.
I know how easily translators change what we say. No need to worry about that but who reads all those comment will have some second thoughts.

I'm happy to be a part of a community where the number of active members exceeds the total number of members. ;-))
Regarding the role of curators, I deeply understand the importance and significance of this position. And while fulfilling this responsibility, I've always been cautious about one thing - to avoid being unfair to any user. This fear is quite dangerous...
New users show great interest in achieving this position, thinking it might help grow their account. But very few people can perform this role well.
However, during the tenure of this responsibility, many users' masks are removed, and several hidden secrets are revealed. But if you want to perform this role with integrity, it's not an easy task.
Because in a way, it's a duty that you can't take lightly. Sometimes, it can even feel like a burden.
It indeed is a heavy task because everyone should be treated in a fair way and you can count with the fact you might be threatened scold or bribed.
Yesterday I reveived an answer that truly shocked me amd what my son said was: Why does someone with such an attitude join a platform? Platforms are all... about creativity, creative writing.
A thick skin is what you need but unlike other communities we are here in a chat box where everyone is free to say, be or joke around.
Whatever you write, publish is own responsibility. If you want to be a plagiarist for sure members will find out a out it.
Does everyone fit into the role of curator? The answer is no but the same counts for moderators, administrators of open communities, directors and so on.
It's hard to curate something you don't like or what disgusts you because of own norms and values. It will also be hard if you are no reader or commenter since if you dislike both reading with full attention will be hard, let alone understand or like what you read or see.
Perhaps a level should be set if it comes to mods and curators? If new to Steemit it should be taught with what to check (photos, plagiarism, AI, not steem exclusive, powering down, CSI...) it's not done within 1 minute. Searching for special content, blogposts is time consumimg. How many do this for real?
Does the newbie deserve a chance if he never posted? Or is it someone with a higher level and no Steem? Is it about broad interests or loyalty, trust or?
If it comes to membership there's no need to subscribe except for perhaps the reminder there is a new topic posted. I rarely follow someone since I could never see friends on my phone so those I like to read I know by name or I know where to find them and search via my communities or blog.

Incredible post from you my good friend, I really love the fact that you brought up this scenario here as a post, so many steemians really want to be a curator and we don't really know their exact intentions as humans this is why steemit team are careful and vigilant while selecting community curators for a particular month.
Being a community curator isn't easy at all, it takes alot of our time and if we a community curator doesn't manage his/her time well, then they can't do their job successfully.
All the time I keep on wondering why sir @ irawandedy was made a solo curator, is it because they feel much quality steemians didn't apply last month or is it another experiment from the steemit team?
@memamun was really the most active steemian in that comment section and I believe he should have a good intention towards being a curator, steemians like him as well as me, got so surprised and satisfied abit when we discovered there's no minimum steem power for this month application.
Alot of steemians tried to be in a team in the past but the minimum steem power for each teach was too much for them since they don't have much steem power and sometimes I feel awkward each time I see big steemians with huge steem power in one team instead of being in separate teams.
To me I will say steemit is also a place to learn more about the true reality of life.

I had hoped to do this before, but never took the plunge due to the extra steam and low rep. But this time I went in a screen order. Like 71 Plus Reputation. 5k SP. I feel like this is my first step to achieve.

Of course I think experience is required. And that's why I joined the team of experienced curators. Because I am not only a curator but also a learner. In the future I can become an experienced curator. If you have support 😊
If it comes to solo I can only speak for me why I wanted to do the job alone: being a team consumes a lot of extra time and I don't like my time being wasted by chats.
Next to that if you apply you say you stand for something and whatever this is, you should stick to that at least that is what I think. How to keep your word (promise) if the resr of your team does not? It means even more (unnecessary) talks.
Look how many hours we talked and I even more than you just about that post we apllied with? If solo it would have taken me a few hours now it's 5 days... It makes scheduling hard.
I am not saying it will be easy to moderate alone but if you stand for something you can look for those posts and if there are only 5 per day (there are more curators) so be it. There's no way to find 30 within the hours you are available if you check on all aspects..
At times it feels to me that it's more about who votes the most and upvoting each post than searching for something good.

A solo curator is on his/her own, he/she doesn't need to wait for the opinion of others in their team before they carry out some kind of action.
Spending time in chats that has to do with the success of curation is good as long as our gathering isn't for something unnecessary.
Am sure you know that someone who hasn't been a curator before can never be made a solo curator but I believe steemit team will give someone the chance to be a solo curator but not irawandedy, another steemian in it's level needs to give that a try.
This time solo is not allowed and since more can apply I think it is good to work with a skilled person and if solo I wouldn't know why not the same lerson if he does a good job and wants it of course.

Voor mij betekent het alleen maar nog meer werk want zoals jij weet ben ik pietje precies en met een telefoon valt dat vies tegen. Ik red me wel maar alles kost veel meer tijd.

Ek het vanmiddag aan jou gedink toe ek die F1 gekyk het. Het my so laat dink aan die ou Suid Afrika vandag... Oranje, Blanje, Blou. Dit was ons vlag gewees.

No, of course I didn't think that. The many requests - although I wrote publicly and explicitly in my summary for July and in an SR report that I would not be applying again in the near future because I prefer to take on such commitments less often, but properly. The many friends I'm supposed to have on the Discord at once...
And I partly understand it: when you're desperately trying to somehow connect with the perceived Steem VIPs, you can fall to your knees...
I see exactly one problem: the Steemit team will not stand by and watch such excesses for long. If it continues to get out of hand, there will be stricter rules again. Unfortunately, all these wannabes don't realise that...
No, it's not just you but I wonder what made you think your SR report is read? (sorry, you made me laugh, first laugh of the Sunday, thank you).
If this will work out? We only know if it's tried but I can tell you it is already hard work days before I decided to join a team. It's time consuming but for now I believe we can do something good.
Fingers crossed we are wrong about the 'one problem' what I miss most is a reason/motivation why curating 12 hours per day next to a job and family life...

New to this platform, just visiting what's going on, I'm not much of a genius, I'm just a simple teacher, and seeker of knowledge. I'm not too active either. But I always take the middle ground. I always wanted to become a curator. But I didn't have that ability. Because I needed at least some SP, and I needed Reputation, which I think I have enough basic abilities for now.
Since I was new, I was not associated with any team. So it is natural that I will have a lot of difficulty in forming a team. So I went to other members to add them to the team. Finally I got Alhamdulillah. It's my luck.
Why should I be a curator? Why did I want to? Firstly everyone wants promotion, I also want promotion. Secondly, everyone's talent is not the same, in my talent, there are some posts that need to be curated, but those posts are not being curated. So, according to my talent, I try to give support to whoever deserves it.
Thirdly, I like busyness very much, people are beautiful in busyness and that responsible. Just don't get me wrong, I'm a moderator in two communities, so far no one can say I've neglected my duties. Because I am always strict with responsibility, I try hard to fulfill every duty here with due respect. And I like it. I will try to fulfill all the responsibilities of this platform properly in the future.

I had a lot of fun reading you, and you mentioned something important: the language barrier. Writing and interpreting what we have read is difficult when we do not master the language. English is a second language for me, but since I can read it, and interpret it, I can correct the translator's errors. Some people are unaware of these errors and blindly trust that the translator says what they want and, many times, that is not the case.
Every month, I receive many messages asking for the same thing: to form a team... And I did it for many continuous months without stopping...
Being a curator helps to understand how the platform is made up, it even helps to see the general level of the texts that are published. For me it is important to support users who make an effort, who enjoy what they do, who do it with passion. Above all, being a curator I made an effort to nominate someone who did not receive support but was doing good work.
I think that for a curator it is very important to leave the easy and known options for nominating, but this takes work, it takes hours of reading and reviewing.
When I stopped being a curator this August, I took a break, and I said to myself: That's enough with this task for now.😅
It also feels good to change my routine. I think I want to focus on other things that help writers more, I want to concentrate on supporting other areas, and I even want to rediscover my essence in Steemit. Because those of us who have been around for a while also need to rediscover what makes us happy on the platform beyond routine.
Curating is a demanding task and can be exhausting if we do not find what we are looking for. It is possible that the most experienced of us need to help with the creativity part to make Steemit a place where the task of curation is easier. As @patjewell said, it's nice to find a good post that we like, in fact when it happens to me, that post stays in my mind.

I read the above, and I see myself in it. I did not apply for August and also not for September, despite the requests from many to form a team.
I just want to enjoy reading without hunting for them, and I want to enjoy Steemit again because I want to and not because I have to.
As for that extra time I have, there are plenty of Steemians dying to help. It is my call of duty.

Good one, and as an Ethical Hecker I can tell you at least one of them who is most active in your post is a "Farming Account" and one of the experts of Steemit on this subject will vouch for that. I am scared and decided to skip posting if that person gets selected for September.
At times we do what we have to do. If not for me it's to show or expose. All curtains will fall at a certain point and if not or 'in' without further wuestion the only answer I have is: foul play.
I am sure you are one of the few who can read, in between the lines included, let's see if it is food for a topic.

Thanks, I know about Jenga and how to remove blocks but since I am not in the power but a block myself in this case so waiting to be removed. By the way, here the number of blocks is different but removal is for sure. Yes, I can read between the lines and write know how to write too.
It's not a solo game removing but also teplacinf blocks. You know it's always a shock if the tower falls on the coffee table. It must be the glass. 🤔Still be play it I guess there's no cheap plastic version?
You never know! You can see the plastic version of blocks sooner than later and the entire rower will come down to the table. Maybe the table will not break but the original blocks will go into the garbage bin.
It sounds like something to look forward too plus the blocks can be cleaned.

A very strong and fierce traffic though it became very strong this month because there's no minimum steem power and even newbies wants to apply.
