Here kitty, kitty! 🙀

We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland! It was very pretty!

I set out for ladies Bible study; it was a good study on the blood of Jesus.

Once home we had some lunch and then met with Jan to go for a hike.

One thing about snow-you see ordinary things that aren’t so ordinary anymore. Take the growths on this tree. They look like magical little snow huts.

Of course, once we got to the trailhead, I mentioned that I wondered if we might see some animal footprints. 🙀 Here, kitty, kitty!

The footprints sure enough showed up just as we started our ascent.

Then we noticed that there were multiple sizes.

Then we found three distinct sets of prints headed uphill, the same direction we were.

This appears to be one adult and two cubs. Probably a mom with her two babies. So, we always know they are out there, but the snow helps to bring about a bit of a reality check. Never assume you are alone, because you are NOT! The snow just helps us to see better! It’s always exciting to track them. We saw that the three sets went beyond the off grid cabin and into the forest. On down the mountain from the direction they were headed is a farm with several varieties of animals and chickens and ducks. I’m guessing they may have been ready for dinner soon.

I did ask my two boys if they’d been out and up the trail playing in the snow, but they’re not talking,lol!

They said they had no idea what I was talking about!🙀

If you hike in cougar territory, be sure you know what to do should you run into one. 👍

Tomorrow finds me at work for a busy day, I’m sure!
