Cooling tips for summer

It is difficult to stay cool during the summer especially if you don't have air conditioning.

One of the best ways to stay cool during the summer is to open the windows at night.
In this way the air circulates and refreshes the whole house.

When the day comes, it's important to close the windows as early as 9 in the morning. In this way the house retains the cool. For the same reason, it is important to close the shutters in rooms exposed to the sun. If there are no shutters, you need to get dark and heavy curtains that can block out the sunlight. Many make the mistake of opening the window when it's hot, but in this way the heat enters the house and it is no longer possible to cool it.

Another way to stay cool is to rub an ice cube on your wrists or neck. Just lay it down for a few seconds and our blood flow slows down and refreshes the whole body. On the other hand, it is not recommended to take cold showers, because immediately afterwards our body compensates and we are even hotter.

Drinking lots of water is another way to stay fresh and hydrated. All other drinks are to be avoided because if we drink sugary drinks, the sugar content will only make us sweat more. Alcohol is also to be avoided, especially in the hottest hours because it raises the body temperature, it also dehydrates the skin and makes us more thirsty.

Another way to stay cool is to wear light, loose clothing. If we go out during the hottest hours it is important that the clothes cover the arms and legs, because the sun in contact with the skin raises the body temperature very quickly. In addition, it is always better to wear a hat that can cover the head, as heatstroke is dangerous.
