Today I am going to share with you a yummy traditional food, unique to Sri Lanka.

It is COCONUT ROTI ( POL ROTI)

This is a very easy recipe . And this is a kind of flat bread which is unique to our culture. You can make pol roti very easily at home. Using few ingredients. This can be taken as a snack as well a staple food for a main meal.

The speciality of this roti is we use coconut for this and it adds a good flavor for this.

And coconut roti can be tried with dhal curry, coconut sambol, lunu miris etc. As Sri Lankans we eat lot of coconut here. We add coconut for most of our foods. And it gives a unique flavor- to our authentic foods.

Below are the ingredients needed to prepare pol roti. But you can add some green chillies also depend on your taste.

Ingredient -

1. All purpose flour 500g
2. Scraped coconut 300g
3. Onion
4. Curry leaves
   And salt according to your taste.

You have to mix all the ingredient using Some water. And make the roti. And you have to cook it with using a pan.
This is very easy recipe to try out. And It takes only 15 minutes to prepare.

When you want buy this , it only cost LKR 10-20( unit price). We can eat this with fish curry,meat curry also!!

You can find pol roti anywhere in sri lanka. Normally people love to have ginger tea after eating pol roti .
