My Favorite Greengrocer: Lulu Hypermarket A One-Stop Center for All My Daily NeedsteemCreated with Sketch.

in SteemFoods4 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians! Introducing to you my favorite Greengrocer, LuLu Hypermarket Kuala Lumpur. I will bring you on a virtual tour where I will show you some fruits, vegetables, meat, and some grocery items that can be found at Lulu Hypermarket. I hope you will enjoy my introduction to this favorite Greengrocer of mine. After that, I will share with you some fruits that I cut and make juice. I even found a pink banana that is called Banana Red Prawn, so cool to know that actually there is a pink banana in the world. Awesome!

I would like to explain that in Malaysia we don't have a greengrocer that only sells green products. They will either be in a supermarket or a grocery shop. Hence this was the reason why a supermarket was chosen for this contest which happened to be my favorite shopping place for my daily need.

Lulu is a department store on three levels with a supermarket on the ground floor connected to the Jakel fabric mall. The 2nd Floor is the fashion department and the 3rd floor is well-equipped kitchen equipment, household, and electronics store.

Lulu Hypermarket is a very respectable corporation that provides jobs to over 57,000 employees of various nationalities across the World. This amazing establishment owns by Lulu Group International who is an Indian-owned multinational company. It is one of the largest retail chains in Asia and is the biggest in the Middle East. Among the countries that the group operates are 1. United Arab Emirates, 2. Oman, 3. Bahrain, 4. Saudi Arabia, 5. Kuwait, 6. Qatar, 7. Egypt, 8. India, 9. Yemen, 10. Indonesia, 11. Suriname and 12. Malaysia. The Malaysian chapter was added in 2016.

Why I choose Lulu Hypermarket?

  1. This is the Green Grocer of my choice because it provides me the best selections of fresh fruits, vegetables, fresh meats, and other groceries that I need. Although there are a few supermarkets nearer to my house I did not like them because they lack the choices for me and the prices are higher than here. And so I'd rather drive 12km to Lulu Hypermarket than go to the nearer supermarket that cannot give me the choices and good price that I want.
  2. Neat and Clean. I like that Lulu Hypermarket is very organized, neat, and clean.
  3. Spacious Basement Parking with a reasonable parking rate of RM4 per entry.
  4. All-in-one Department Store. I do not have to go anywhere to get anything, everything is here under one roof.
  5. Helpful staff ~ The staff not only properly uniformed, but they are also very helpful.

So my verdict for Lulu Hypermarket is 5-Star and this place is so far the best shopping place for my daily needs.

A Giant Lollypop!

Okay, let's talk about this lollypop first before I cut fruits. I saw a giant lollypop while walking around and I got so curious, so I bought it for RM8.90 to check and it makes me laugh and roll on the floor, it is not a giant one, it is many lollypops packed in one. I feel so silly right now hahaha!
Presentation19-4.jpg

White Dragon Fruit @ RM3.76

I guess this fruit got its name from its shape that looks like a dragon. The meat of the fruit looks like it was decorated with sesame seeds. The taste and texture are similar to kiwi fruit. There are 2 colors white and purple but I can't tell much about the difference in taste except the colors.
Presentation20-4.jpg

A Bunch of Pink Bananas that is called 'Banana Red Prawn' @ RM6.74

I cut to see inside, it looks like a normal banana just the color is pink, but it is still not ripe so I cannot tell you about the taste. I am planning to bake a banana cake with this. I hope I can make a post to show you if I ever bake one later.
Presentation22-2.jpg

Soursop @ RM8.35

Soursop is called Durian Belanda in Malay. It has a strong aroma similar to pineapple and tastes sour citrus flavor, contrasting with a thick creamy texture reminiscent of banana. Soursop is best for making juice, so I make myself a yummy soursop juice. Do you like that small umbrella, cute right.

well, your post is much, much better than mine, I enjoy to see your quality pictures of all this food divercity. good lighting is a big, very sufficient help for capturing nice images.
just one 'contras' - it was a mall, supermarket, not a green grocery shot.
cheers! sorry that my answer is so brief.
your friend from cold, cold, cold Russia

Hello there @qwerrie, hahaha the problem with Malaysia there is no greengrocer. We have only supermarkets or grocery shops. I guess that is kind of like culture or rules here I am not sure but that's why it has always been like that. No worries that your comments are brief. I am not a good photographer nor do I have a fancy camera. My tool for photography is my Samsung A70 mobile phone and I am just so happy it can take quite decent photos. Okay, my friend, take care and don't get too cold. I was born in a tropical country so I am kind of used to hot weather and cannot even stand a 20-degree temperature. You know I will be shivering to death with that kind of temperature. So I can imagine what cold you are talking about, must be very very cold. By the way, thank you so much for your kind compliment and visit to my page. Have a pleasant day, cheers, ainie

Que bonito, se ve todo muy ordenado y tu post brilla por si solo, felicidades.
