The last pets - Wolfhounds

I had many pets and took care of even more.
These days I frequently wonder if it was a good thing. Is it a good thing to keep an animal for a pet? Pets need to fit to you, your lifestyle and it's not a good idea to dump them if your life changes. People dumped many animals on my doorstep. I took care of them, had two jobs to feed them, my children needed to give a hand and no matter if I was ill or just gave birth, I fed them, cleaned cage after cage and tried to care. I did my best but for sure could have done better. The fact is you cannot save each abandoned and molested or sick animal. The more you have the less attention you can give. I gave up on it all. I wouldn't have taken the animals we have now if we were not forced by it by neighbors and criminals.

The pets we have are social but the fact is we do not live outside day and night under all circumstances. They do. They have to because I took them for a reason. One might be enough but being social, belonging to a pack is important to the kind of pet I have. This means one is not enough.

Time passed by fast.
The youngest are already over one year old. Only one is still alive. The other one - a male - is killed by the vet. The female we could keep alive. I never intended to keep her but a dog with a history shouldn't be given to someone else.
