Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC)| S12W4- "My Favorite Household Appliances"
Am @saintkelvin17 and am a Nigerian, have been looking for a very wonderful day to participate in this contest until this very moment am.posting my entry. Appliances in our home are so many as they make tasks in our home easy and they also make our home more comfortable to stay. Special thanks to @steem4nigeria for creating this contest.
My favorite household appliances
In our home we have so many household appliances known as ceiling fan, blender, washing machine, refrigerator, oven, pressing iron, electric kettle, water heater and so many others. If you observe very well you will notice that all these appliances are connected with wire that's connected to the power supply in our home.
My favorite household appliances are Pressing iron and Water heater. These appliances has lots of functions that has really made things easy and comfortable for me at home. Our pressing iron has really lasted because we bought it more than 10 years ago and is still working perfectly for us by now the price must have increased.
Functions of these appliances
Like I said earlier, these appliances has functions I fancy alot and I will briefly talk about these functions now;
Pressing iron : This is a very wonderful household appliance that has made us look smart in our dressings. This appliance is used for straightening our clothes and making it look nice. People iron their clothes so that it can look well presentable. I iron my clothes alot after washing and spreading them outside. Without iron our clothes would have been looking bad although the charcoal iron was in existence before this electric iron but it has it's own disadvantage.
Water heater : This has really saved us kerosene because we no longer turn on our stove to boil water with our kettle. Water heater is used for heating our water, after heating this water, we often use it to bathe. Once there's power supply in the morning, we will all plug the heater in a bucket of water and wait for sometime before we can mix it with cold water and take out bath.
The rate I use these appliances
As for the pressing iron I must say that I make use of it weekly, there's a particular day I iron my clothes every week, the only thing that will make me not to iron my clothes on that day which is (Mondays) is when there's no power supply the whole of that day. I iron a large number of my clothes and my father's clothes and keep them in our wardrobe till the time we want to wear any of them.
The water heater is meant to be used everyday as we didn't use it yesterday because of lack of power supply, we had to take our bath with the water we boiled on the stove with kettle. Whenever there's power supply, we make use of this water heater everyday, morning, afternoon and night.
A day without using these appliances
I can stay a day without using these appliances because the iron is something I use less than 3 times a week as I make use of it once a week or twice whenever there's an emergency. The water heater is something I can really do without because we have stove and kettle to boil water we can use to bathe. Even if there's no stove and kettle, I can manage and bath cold water that day as have done that more than thrice. I have also gotten this iron in our home for more than 10 years while the water heater has been used for 5 days, we bought it recently. Our previous one spoilt last week.

Philip electric iron, is the best product that i have ever seen when it comes to pressing iron. You have the best friend and it is just like the one my Dad has been using even before i was born. I wish you success.
Yes the iron is good as we bought it 5k more than 10 years ago.
Okay, you brought back a lot of memories.
Many moons ago (10 years) I was involved with a company called Reddot miniGEZA. Through a multilevel marketing concept, we made it available to the public. We sold them for +/- 100 STEEM.
You can now buy them for 300 STEEM in some of the chain stores and even on Takealot.
Those were the days.

10 years ago isn't small ma, then I was even still in primary school. The iron had really lasted for my family.

These two household appliances are necessary at home. Both has their different functions and they serves us from stress and waste of resources. Like the water heater, instead of wasting gas to boil water, it's better to make use of the electricity.
