Introduction

It's the third week of season 5 of the ongoing Steemit Engagement Challenge and this time, we experience some dynamics in some of the themes organized across the participating communities, this community is not an exception. It would be a great pleasure for me to put down my diary article in the entry for the theme of the engagement challenge in the community for the week, "The Diary Game". I have a sweet diary to share, it would be worth your time.

Morning

The day for me started around 6:00. My activities for the day began with replying to some of the comments on my articles and upvoting some articles. The process continued till 8:00 and I realized there was a technical issue on the platform at that time. And later I was involved in some of the usual morning routines before I got set for the day.

A day well spent is often guided with a to-do list that keeps one in check of the lined-up engagements for the day, as such I don't joke with this. I wrote my activities in one piece and it starts with my learning of web development, well, I have been into this for some time before I stopped.

There are no plans for food this morning, I didn't even plan for that, I have a lot to achieve for the day, and preparing a meal would only steal away my time, in short, I didn't eat in the morning. What about early morning traffic? I stay at a very far place from a tarred road as such I can't know what the traffic was without wasting about 1 hr of my day. Studying continued till some minutes to noon.

Afternoon

I have written a plan to embark on a charity visit for the week, especially, now that my health is getting better, I wrote this in the to-do list to visit an orphanage that belongs to the Federation of Muslim Women's Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN) and just around noon I was out of the house.

The Weather for the Day

The pictures above have a brief story to tell about the day, it was a sunny day even from the early hours. The maximum temperature for the day was 28 o C while the average temperature was 25 o C, we are about in the dry season.

On my way out, I branched to a local cobbler shop to take a look at some of the palm slippers displayed for sale.

I found one that I like but the size is 41 and I wear 43, he promised to check his store for my size and let me know about that the following day. My next destination was the super store to get a few things I would be taking to the orphanage, I utilized public transport to navigate my way to the mall and visited the Zenith bank ATM Gallery to withdraw some cash that would be used later.

Cash Withdrawal at the Bank

The store I am heading to was Justrite Superstore in the Osun Mall. The mall is just situated opposite the bank I had visited earlier and as such, I only crossed to the other side.

Justrite Super Store

I have just purchased a few things from the mall which cost around 8,200 NGN (mainly for the charity visit), above are the pictures of the mall's structure and the payment section. I left the mall and navigated my way to the orphanage.

Special Event for the Day

The special event that occurred during my day was the visit to the orphanage. It was more fun when I met a family that have visited the place to celebrate their twin boys' first birthday by giving to the needy. I watched the moment of happiness before I was able to deliver the stuff I took to the orphanage which are noodles, bath soaps, tissue papers and detergents.

After leaving the orphanage, I headed to a local market to purchase a few things that would be needed for my cooking in the house. At the market, Oluode, Osogbo, I purchased vegetables and beef.

Purchase at the Market

I got back to my flat around 16:00 and had a cold shower, it's been a long and hot afternoon then I spent the rest of the afternoon in the kitchen to make my first meal of the day.

Evening

It was evening already before I was able to finish cooking, I have eaten some bananas I bought in the market while preparing the main meal. The meal prepared is known as Amala (from yam flour) and spiced vegetables (Spiced African Spinach). I served my dinner and ate, let me show you some pictures below.

Dinner

After dinner, I had another shower and rested for a while. I generated the random winning numbers for the guessers club while I also spent some time constructing the article for the week 3 update of the challenge. Then, I started writing about my charity visit and both the articles written were saved on my notepad.

It was a long day and it was 01:00 before I went to bed to put all behind for the day. My overall feeling for the day is fulfillment, I have touched life today and it's one of the amazing things I treasure so much.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I started the day with some efforts to blog and then to studying which was followed by a visit to an orphanage to touch lives through Steemit under the "Feed the Orphans" project. I hope I have not bored you with pictures, the fact is that my day has a lot of picture memories and the ones I shared were just a bit of them. Thanks for reading through. I hereby invite @solexybaba, @badmus-official and @carlaisl to take part in this.

There are so many activities that you do with your condition that is still not healthy,
I am very interested in your charity work, it will give lots of love to those in need.
The African spiced spinach looks like stir-fried kangkung in my area,
A day that ends with gratitude,
Wish you always healthy and successful 👍👍👍

It's a pleasure to see that you have shown interest in the charity work I embarked on, it pays to give genuinely to lives out there. Our actions would go a long way to change the world.

I'd like to have a view of what stir-fried kangkung is, in fact, I'm using the search engine to take look now. Kangkung actually means Water Spinach in English, this shows it's of the same family as the African Spinach. I guess our method of cooking spinach might differ a bit.

Thanks for stopping by, @liasteem.

I was also confused because of the sudden problem. I think the Steam team should send an awareness message to everyone who is the user before issuing the Ismate update. I was very happy to see the compassion shown to the little boys and girls in the orphanage. I wish you all the best. And I invite you to read my new post.

Thanks for finding value in the charity work I embarked on for the day, @shahariar1. I appreciate your visit.
