"Steemit Engagement Challenge Season8 Week1: My learning during the pandemic"
It is no longer news that the pandemic came as a surprise to everyone and the entire world nobody was expecting it but as we all know things happen as far as we exit. During that time there were so many restrictions and all the states were asked to take major precautions on how to avoid spreading the covid.
What do you consider to be the main lesson you learned
The main lesson I learned during the pandemic is the fact that I was able to maintain physical hygiene, washing of hands at all times, wear face masks, and avoid physical contact with people. This was the lesson I learned because back then I don't consider frequent washing hands as a way to maintain good hygiene but since the pandemic came to the world we were educated on how to keep ourselves safe in other not to contact with the disease and I can say that it helped me a lot because up till now I always wash my hands and apply my hand sanitizer at any opportunity I get.
Did you have any loss of family or friends because of the pandemic? Can you tell us about it?
Ooh yes, I did even though it was not from my family the woman was my mother's friend who travels abroad, and the pandemic cut her up while she was in the USA, when she came back to Nigeria she was isolated for 3 months but we were all hoping that she will get better soon but later do we know that the variable has already spread in her body and as at then there was no medication for it yet.
The day mum and myself went to visit her at the isolation center I was so shocked by the way she was crying and telling my mum that she don't want to die. They did not allow us to go close to her but I saw the pain she was passing through. After some days we got the news that she died and she was buried in the bush.😪
What was the most difficult moment during the pandemic?
The most difficult moment during the pandemic was the fact that it took us unaware and as at then I was in school, going back home was very difficult for me not until our vice chancellor provided a bus for all the students to get to their various homes. Reaching home there was not enough food at the house and all the markets were shut down, to eat good food at that time was a problem because the government declared a lockdown for more than a month. It was not easy for me but I bless God that I was able to scale through it.
After all that process, do you value your health more?
Oooh yes, I value my health and that of my family, my mum is a medical Doctor so keeping ourselves healthy was a must, and as far as you are at home, you must do as she said. while growing up as a child my mum thoughts of some basic things on how to stay healthy at all times and I have practiced that all this while. They said “health is wealth” so if we don't maintain our bodies we will end up in the grave or we will also be a victim of the source of diseases.
Did the pandemic impact your finances positively or negatively? How did you cope?
During this period, I was not working and as such, I was always at home since the school was shot down for a while, but after some months the case in my state was not that much so I decided to enroll myself in one of the culinary school in my state because the house was so bored but since there was an opportunity for me to go out I was able to learn how to cook, bake, and more. So I must say that it has impacted me positively to some extent.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the pandemic thought me a lot about maintaining my health but at the same, I had challenges during that period due to the restriction of movement it was not easy fir many families but we are glad that we all survived it.
It is unfortunate that the pandemic caught everyone by surprise and had a significant impact on the world. It is commendable that you learned to prioritize physical hygiene, such as washing your hands and wearing a face mask, which helped you stay safe during the pandemic. It is also saddening to hear about the loss of your mother's friend due to the pandemic, and how it affected you and your family emotionally. The most challenging moment during the pandemic for you was the difficulty of going back home and the scarcity of food during the lockdown. It is great to know that you value your health and that of your family, and that you were able to enroll in a culinary school to learn new skills during the pandemic. Overall, it is heartening that you were able to cope with the challenges of the pandemic and come out stronger
You are right ma'am the pandemic took us unaware, the lockdown was so stressful, there was no food to buy at that time. But i bless God that every thong is fine now.

Covid has negatively affected 100% of the lives on earth. It has taken lives of many people around us including our loved ones, relatives, and family members.
You have mentioned that you learned the lesson to maintain physical hygiene. I also agree that we must wash our hands and face 5-6 times a day. No matter the pandemic has gone but still we must take care of ourselves.
Feeling sad to hear about your mother's friend death due to Covid. I know how it feels because my uncle also passed away when I was with him in the hospital. At almost last moments of life, he was not blinking his eyes and was not even moving a single inch of his fingers. I was very scared at that time.
As you mentioned your mother is a medical Doctor, then you must be taken care of yourself very carefully. A doctor in the house knows what precautions must be taken regularly not only in pandemic.
Some people affected negatively and some positively as you are affected in positive way during pandemic. But most of us got financial issues because of shutdown in the world.
