One Street of my city contest

First of all I would like to thank you for the opportunity to show our work.

Next I'll describe the street I'm presenting. Garret Street in Lisbon.

I often travel to Lisbon, sometimes for work and sometimes for personal visits. It is a city that I love, I consider it to be on a human scale, without huge buildings and almost everything within easy reach.

The oldest part is the district of A Baixa, which is in the lower part of the city surrounded by hills, the neighbouring district is Chiado and the street that joins them is the Garret. A steep street that can be said to be the epitome of the Portuguese capital. It is true that it has become a commercial artery, but it still preserves emblematic buildings and shops.

When you start to walk up from A Baixa, you will come across a simulated old truck that offers a wide range of the profoundly Lisbon music that is Fado.

En primer lugar daros las gracias por la oportunidad que ofrecéis para mostrar nuestro trabajo.

A continuación paso a describiros la calle que presento. La Calle Garret de Lisboa.

Decir que viajo con frecuencia a Lisboa, una veces por trabajo y otras de visita personal. Es una ciudad que me encanta, considero que está a escala humana, sin enormes edificios y casi todo al alcance de la mano.

La parte más antigua es el barrio de A Baixa, que está en la parte baja de la ciudad rodeado de colinas, el barrio vecino es el de Chiado y la calle que los une es la Garret. Una calle empinada y que se puede decir que es el compendio de la capital portuguesa. Es verdad que ha devenido en una arteria comercial, pero conserva con plena vigencia edificios y comercios emblemáticos.

Cuando se empieza a subir desde A Baixa, nos encontramos con un camión antiguo simulado que ofrece una amplia gama de esa música profundamente lisboeta que es el fado.

As we go up, we come across various more or less modern shops and we can also see some artisans showing their work.

Conforme vamos subiendo nos encontramos con diversos negocios más o menos modernos y también podemos observar algunos artesanos que muestran sus trabajos.

Almost reaching the top we see two of Lisbon's most iconic shops, the Tous jewellers and the Bertrand bookshop, the latter considered to be the oldest bookshop in the world.

Casi llegando a la parte alta vemos dos de los comercios más icónicos de Lisboa, la joyería Tous y la librería Bertrand, esta última considerada la librería más antigua del mundo.

When the street reaches Largo do Chiado, another emblematic place looks forward to us, the café A Brasileira, a centenary place where the great Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa wrote part of his work.

Cuando la calle alcanza el Largo do Chiado, otro lugar emblemático nos espera, la cafetería A Brasileira, local centenario en el que el gran poeta portugués Fernando Pessoa, escribió una parte de su obra.
