Scarlet Lacewing~~Nocturnal Insect
This adult scarlet lacewing is included into nocturnal insect! I found it when I walking down thru the narrow path, I noticed this unique species was fluttering around the ground before it really made a stop on the grass. The scarlet lacewings are active during the nighttime hours. Larvae can be active during the day and night. Scarlet lacewings are white with black strip body, providing camouflage in areas of dense vegetation. As an under-appreciated group of beneficial insects, scarlet lacewings are like lady beetles in that they are natural predators of many types of soft-bodied insects and insect eggs. The lacewing is also known as a stickily because it emits a disagreeable odor as a protective device. This scarlet lacewing ((Italochrysa japonica) was a bit quiet resting on wild grass which allowed me to have some distance shots. The most interesting part of this lacewing is that the colors and the transparent wings. All I needed to do was to manage to get a couple of shots from close range before it's really disappeared from my sight.
