Love In Secret : Part One
Carla's stomach twisted and churned as she watched Daniel dance with Belinda. With him in his midnight black suit, gelled back matching hair and with her in a body hugging backless forest green evening gown and sideswept dirty blonde curls, they were the perfect match. The couple, both from powerful families were expected by everyone to get married, their chemistry obvious.
"Waitress!"
She turned to see who called for her and hurriedly went to provide them with more glasses of champagne. When her tray was finally empty, she left the hall in a rush, eager to get away from the scene that was causing her so much pain. She moved with purpose along the dark corridors of the mansion and headed towards the library, nobody will disturb her there. Before she was able to open the library's doors, a hand clutched hers and she was pulled into a warm embrace. She closed her eyes to savour the feeling and removed all traces of hurt. Feeling the hand go up her shoulder, Carla turned to face the blue eyed man, the love of her live.
They shared a passionate kiss, lips telling a story of their love and their hurt. This was Carla's life. She and Daniel fell in love, a feat that was not supposed to happen but it did. But she could never be accepted by his family because of her poor background. She was fired from her job as their servant when it was discovered that she harboured feelings for their only son. Since then, they were in a love affair, unable to stay away from each other.
"I love you Daniel, with all my heart", she said as they rested their foreheads together. "As do I, my love", he replied and kissed her forehead. She couldn't hold back this time around and burst into tears.
"It hurts Dan. Seeing you with her hurts even though it is to protect me".
"I know. And I promised you that we were going to find a way to be together remember? Today is the last day, please bare with me. We will be leaving in two hours time. Get your things ready. I'll meet you by the car", he said and kissed her once more then rubbed her slightly protruding belly.
Carla was elated, Daniel was fighting for her and their baby. She did as he asked and waited for him in the car. Daniel on the other hand, went to say goodbye to Belinda, after all she knew about his love for Carla and that their relationship was only for show. What he didn't know was that she has been in love with him since they were twelve years old. When he went in to hug her for what he thought was the last time, he felt something prick his skin. Looking down he saw a syringe in her hand.
Daniel was confused and started to lose his balance. He looked to Belinda to ask why she was doing this to him. "I'm sorry Danny, I'm sorry but you cannot leave" she said. "Belinda you don't understand, please stop this" he tried to reason out but alas, she could not be reasoned with.
"I'm so sorry" she said as Daniel lost consciousness.
