The Hibiscus Flower

Scientifically know as rosa-Sinensis, the hibiscus flower is one of my favorite flowers, it comes in white, pink, peach, red, blue, orange, yellow or purple. Locally, we have more of the red, yellow and white variety. Most species have five petals. The flower has a style that holds anther and stigma.

It is mostly used as a decorative flower and it's lives are also cooked as a vegetable. The flower can be made into a tea believed to have plenty of vitamin C. When I was small, I will plug the flower and suck the nectar at the base which may have prompted my love for the flower.

Needed items
I will be using the following items for the drawing
• An A4 sheet of paper
• A pencil
• An Eraser
The A4 paper will serve as my canvas, I will be using the pencil for drawing and shading while the eraser will be used to remove mistakes and to lighten some areas on the flower.
A flat even surface will help during the drawing and an environment with plenty of light and less distraction is most ideal for this exercise.
I am not a professional artist and I hope to learn from your comments.
Step 1
I got a blank sheet of paper and started with my username.
Step 2
I started by drawing the style which came with the anther and stigma.
Step 3
I now had to draw the flower's petals, I captured this shot when I had drawn only four, so one more was to be drawn.
Step 4
I added the fifth petal and did some shading on them. I needed to attach the flower to the plant then add a leaf.
Step 5
The drawing is complete and it's time to take a selfie with the finished work.

La flor que has dibujado en muy común en mucho países tropicales; por acá se le conoce como cayena.

I am not an artist, I just draw and I was shown how to do some shading by @ranartblog in world of Xpilar. Here is one of the lessons I got from him.

You have done great. This is a complex shape.
I think the next step is to try and draw with no lines.
You can use the lines very gently, just for the structure.
Then, look for the brightness values.
Meaning, try to see how dark or light each area is, and draw smoothly with the pencil that same dark or light value.
If you press lightly with the pencil, it will be light, press harder and it will be darker.
Example:
First the structure.
Then, brightness values (no lines).
