Contest alert: The crime prevalent in my country

Society without peace and harmony cannot be develop or progress, we need peace in order for the members of society to move on freely without any obstacles that will disrupt their daily activities.
Is it kidnapping, theft, murder, fraud or any other. Mention it.
Crime can be define as the behaviour that violate the law of a particular community. Crime give bad image to a society because such society will be in a state of confusion and peoples can not be able to carry out their business transaction.
Kidnapping is one of the crime in Nigeria society, in fact kidnapping is the major business for unemployed youth to survive because their is no job opportunity available for them. This particular criminal act is keep on increasing day by day in which citizen of a country are usually afraid in their own country.
Once the victim is kidnapped they will start to call their family on phone and demand huge amount of money to return the victim, the kidnappers will give them certain date, time and place to drop the money and if they didn't meet up on time the kidnapper may beat or eventually kill the victim.
Some family who does not have ransom may seek mosque, church, neighbors support in order to raise money and give it to the kidnappers.
Or have you been part of it either mistakenly or intentionally. If yes, how?
I have not been a victim of this criminal act but I heard it on the news everyday how this notorious peoples are mistreated the victim, sometime I may wonder the emotional trauma the victim may went through such as beating, raping and others illicit act.
I known a person who this happened to, she was hijacked at night when she about to closed the gate of her shop, they kidnapped her and demanded ransom from the family members. Ransom was paid and the woman was released from their captivity, she narrated how they feed her with bread and water only for two days if the family did not quickly raised the money she may not be release till now.
Kidnapping is an embarrassment to our national unity, foreigners may be afraid to invest their capital in our country because they believe their life and property is at risk.
Nigeria government frown to this illicit act, their are some kidnappers
who kill the victim and still collected ransom from their relative.
The law proposed life imprisonment for convicted kidnappers but in some others state death penalty were given to kidnappers especially if the law enforcement agency found the victim dead in their captivity.
Their will be peace everywhere, citizen can move freely from one place to another, the world will be a better place to live and peoples will not be afraid any longer. Development can occur in a country where their is peace, mutual relationship with multinational country will help our businesses to keep on progressing.
Additionally, their will be improvement in our economy development because it will attract foreign investor to invest their capital on any business of their choice.
The functionalist scholars believe that society without criminal such society is not function. Law enforcement agency are always be their to arrest peoples who disobey rule and regulation of a country.
According to Durkheim
crime is a necessary evil, and that it is necessary in order for society to function properly.
Crime is also a social function that distinguish bad and good behavior in our society. We cannot move away from crime it help us to discover what change need to be done.
As a citizen of a country we must obey rule and regulation if we want peace to reign in our countries. Government of any country must work tireless to protect life and property of the citizens. I will like to invite @ebeke, @jueco, and @bonaventure24 to join me in this contest.

Hello friend, it's true that kidnapping is one of the crimes that are prevalent in the country. And knowing what part you live in I can tell why it is the first that came to your mind. Here i Abia state it is Internet fraud (yahoo). And most people do it confidently.
