Hello there! Thank you for visiting my blog.

The tropical weather climate in Nigeria is divided into two seasons — Wet and Dry season. Like every other time of the year, each season experiences bloom and bliss. The wet season otherwise known as the rainy season starts in March and ends between October and November. It is notable for a great deal of rainfall with a bit of sunshine. On the other hand, the dry season which is also known in common parlance as harmattan season has little to no rainfall and a great amount of sunshine. This season starts from November and comes to an abrupt stop in March.

Since summer denotes a period of lesser rainfall and a great amount of heat, this write-up will focus on the dry season. For the sake of this contest, you will get to know what businesses thrive during this period.

Typically, the weather becomes hazy due to the North-East trade wind. As a result, cracked skins and lips become rampant. Since the weather is usually hot and people wear breathable clothes, extra care is taken to deeply moisturize the skin and the feet are usually covered with socks or cover shoes. Cloth dealers enjoy a lot of patronages. Also, this weather is accompanied by cough and catarrh. The rate of dehydration keeps rising and to avoid this, people are advised to drink lots of water but that's not all.

While other activities begin to decline as the end of the year approaches, other areas like tourism, entertainment, etc. experience a tremendous boom. This is as a result of an increase in the influx of people to various regions. In Akwa Ibom state, new activities like Christmas village, 9999 carol night, pageantry, Get-together and start-up parties spring up to commemorate the festivity that takes place during this period. The dry season provides a perfect moment for outdoor activities and so, people spend more time with their spouses, friends and family. Fashion houses and eateries maximise this opportunity.

Most interesting of all is that some special fruits and plants grow during this period. In the southern part of Nigeria where I live, it is common to see Udara (African star apple), Nkadika (a green plant which turns red when it gets ripe. Its flesh is succulent and seeds hot or spicy) etc.

By January, many people, organizations and businesses write out their new year resolution and goals. Farmers who cultivate the ground begin to prepare for the new planting season which begins mostly in March. For a person who loves the dry season, these unique features give me nostalgic feelings.

As is my tradition, I am making the most of this season. Visiting the popular Christmas village which opens today is first on my list. This will last for about a month. I will also use these three months to create crafts whose inspiration can only come from sunshine.

I invite @esusaviour @amjosh9 @pato84 to participate in this contest

This one caught my attention real good. Udara is one of my favorite fruit . I like sipping it even though the sour taste can be so slappy
