Parenthood is simply the state of being a parent (having a child/children). Actually, it doesn't necessarily mean birthing a child, parenting has a lot more to do with the care, love and support you give to your child/children. I am of this opinion because a lot of people out there had their children via adoption, surrogacy and so on but they have the interest of these young ones at heart and they do everything in their means to keep them alive and in good health. On the other hand, there are people that give birth to children afterwards give them out for adoption. Which of these set of individuals can we boldly call a parent? Of course, the one that happily takes up the responsibility to protect, cater and see the child grow is a parent.
As a parent, you tend to sacrifice a lot for your children to ensure their wellbeing. This is done out of love so you see yourself smiling even in very uncomfortable situation, that's the "JOY".

What Joy is Experienced by parents for being parents?

It's true that God created everyone in his image and likeness. Even with this understanding, parents still happen to see their children as their mini-self. They believe that they brought their children into existence which is biologically true and because of this, they'll embrace and love the child immensely. Let's bring back our memory to when a child is born, the joy in the atmosphere is always unimaginable. The mother could experience a lot of pain in the labour room but she'll start smiling the minute she hears her baby's cry. That's the joy we're talking about. Going through pains just to make sure their child is in a good state and when they succeed in making their child okay, the pain is gone because it doesn't count anymore.

Also, parents will look at their children doing some things and all they'll do is smile because they can actually remember they did something like that when they were their age. Another joy parents experience is the joy of patiently watching their kids grow from being a baby to a toddler, then to a teen and eventually to an adult. You know all the memories they have of their children gives them this special kind of joy.

Does this Joy increase as the child grows?

Yes, the joy increases as the child grows older. As the child is growing that's exactly how the bond between them grows stronger. Just take for instance, a 3 months old baby has spent just 3 months with the parents while a 3 years old child has spent 36 months with the parents so it's possible that the joy of parenting gets more alive as you watch your baby grow.

What can contribute to the joy that parents experience?

It's funny how the slightest thing a baby does could make the parents happy. This is because not too much is expected of a baby. When a baby first utters a word, the parents will jump in excitement, when a baby makes the first attempt to walk, what a happy feeling. Sometimes when a baby eats well or smiles, parents become happy but as a child grows older, more is expected.
A good results from school, fluency in speaking, participating actively in quiz and debates, participation in games and sports and many more will contribute to a parents joy.

Do you wish to be a parent or are you already a parent? Do you expect the same joy kind of joy or are you already experiencing joy as a parent?

I am not yet a parent but I'm hopeful that one day I'll be a parent and I will experience the joy of parenting. It's funny I'm not a parent but I have lot's of experiences about Parenthood because I have younger ones I take care of everyday. Luckily I'm the firstborn of my parents and they waited a little longer to birth other children I'm a big sister to a 10yrs, 12yrs, 13yrs and 19yrs old siblings.

What hope of happiness do you want as a parent to your child later?

I will be very happy to see my child win in competitions, be bold and courageous to face the world, to be self disciplined, smart, to be successful in whatever career he/she choose, to be respectful and most especially to love the Lord.
It is a thing of joy for a parent to see his or her child live their dreams and become the best they can be in all aspects of life.

CONCLUSION

The journey of parenting has it's own ups and downs but you can always find the right way to navigate through it.
To anyone who's scared or doubtful about his or her ability to be a parent, trust me, you got this, it's a natural ability given to everyone by God.
And to all the parents out there, Kudos, I'm really proud of you all - keep up with the good work.
However, it is pertinent for parents to understand that their children's life and future lies in their hands. And you need to try your best not to jeopardize it.

I hereby invite my friends @adylinah @eliany @goodybest to participate in this contest.

The joy of parenting can not be fully explained seriously. I understand that feeling of seeing your children win in a competition..there is this sweet pride abi boldness it gives as a parent.

Once I was invited to a school end of year. One particular student was awarded with almost all the gifts available. The mum of the child could not hold her Joy, she stood up, arranged her wrapper on her waist just for people to say "you see that woman that stood up now, thats the mother of that child"

😂😂😂 I can't stop laughing. Do you want someone else to take her glory.

Hahahah! So funny!
I was just laughing that day

This is really funny🤣 Parents are usually very proud of their kids when they engage positively in school stuffs and of win awards.
I think I'll do more if I were to be the girl's mother 🤣

Yeah, that's so true. Any parent has to be responsible because the children are looking up to them.
