Describe a catfish.

The magur fish looks a lot like the hornfish, but the magur fish is slightly larger and different from the hornfish. Magur fish is found in the sea and in rivers and canals. It is one of the most famous fish in the world. Famed for its outstanding cat-like whiskers. It belongs to the order Siluriphyrium and Pimelodiade families of obese fishes, with a lot of fatty flesh. It lives in water but can survive for a long time without water. There is no fiber in this fish. This fish is slippery in nature.

Where do they live?

Catfish or magur fish are found almost everywhere. However, they are most diverse among tropical South America, Asia and Africa, with a family native to North America and Europe. More than half of all catfish species live in America. We also have catfish in Bangladesh. Catfish can mainly live in sandy soils. Catfish are usually found in coastal areas.

Do you know the different types of catfish?

There are two types of Magur fish in our country. Desi magur fish and exotic magur fish. The fish that grows without cultivation or in the wild is the native magur fish. And foreign mothers are usually cultivated. Besides, Tengra, Singh, Magur fish are all known as catfish.

Have you seen one before? If yes, where?

In Gazipur we have a farm in Nama area where this native magur fish is available. From there my husband caught fish and brought it to our house when I saw this fish.

Are they important to people, what important role do they play in people's lives? Talk about their nutritional value and usefulness.

100 grams of Magur fish has 86 grams of calories, 15 grams of protein, 210 mg of calcium, 290 mg of phosphorus and 0.7 mg of iron. This fish helps in the formation of bones and muscles of the human body, and also increases the taste. This fish removes anemia. Therefore, it can be said that this fish is very important for people. Besides, many people are becoming self-sufficient by farming this fish, so fish is very beneficial from the economic point of view.

If they are dangerous to humans tell us their dangerous parts.

Foreign species of fish are cultivated more. So these fish are very big or monster like. By doing this, they can easily eat the smaller fishes. So no other small fish can be farmed with this fish. Again, native Magur fish eats small fish if it is in such pond water. Amazons eat a lot of food.

Some parts of the country eat it, so say you've eaten it before, is your favorite recipe dried, fresh or barbecued?

Many people in the country eat this fish. Earlier I ate this fish fried with onions. My favorite recipe of this month is Magur Fish Bhuna: Basically green chillies are lightly fried in onion oil with turmeric, salt and chilli powder, the fish is cut into small pieces and left in fried onion oil for a while, the recipe is done. It was very funny to me.

Magur fish is as beautiful to look at as it is fun to eat. And Magur fish is available more or less everywhere. Magur fish is very useful for the body.
