Food diary||18-05_2024|| Cooking economical food in my working place.

I was very hungry and at the same time I didn't know what to eat to satisfy my belly. Food of 1000 is about 2.5 steem is no longer satisfied. Everything is expensive especially food item, imagine this small amount of kerosene I bought for 700 naira(1.9 steem).

I was at my working place, the nature of my work required to waiting till when my boss comes to the shop because she always brings food to me. I took small bread and tea in the morning as breakfast because I was feeling like someone who have not being eaten for the past one week.

I was waiting for my boss, at about 3pm, she came, but with nothing. Instead of bringing this food this time, she gave me 400N to buy food. Which food will I buy with this amount, N400 food is like throwing your money away so I prefer to cook. I went to my friend's shop and he gave me half geriga of rice and half geriga of beans with extra N400.So i have a total amount of N800(2 steem) to prepare the food. This is how I spent it:

• Kerosene N500
• Onion N50
• Maggi N50
• Scent leave and Curry leaf N100
• Crayfish N100

I have other spices like satchet pepper, curry powder, groundnut oil. These are the ingredients I have at the moment, remember am cooking economical rice and beans.

Preparation

♦️I washed my onions and scent|Curry leaf, and slice it.

♦️The beans I use is called drum and it's very easy to cook and to be soft, I washed it 3 time, rinsed it, put in the pot, add Small salt and water and placed it on the stove. I come for about 30 minutes.

♦️After 30 minutes, I added the rice which I have been wash, adding all the ingredients including adding the scent leaves, curry powder, onion, Crayfish, and pepper. After adding everything I waited for my food to get soft, be I so was so exhausted.

	The water has been drained

♦️After some minute I checked the food, the water has been drain and I added the groundnut and cooked for 5 minutes.

♦️My food is ready, I rush to grab my tray, dish the rice and you know, start consuming as someone who has not seen food for decades. I know how much I will have spent is I want to buy that quantity of food outside, this is to show that cooking at home this days save money than buying food outside.

This is how I prepare the rice and beans though I didn't used other ingredients because I couldn't afford at that moment. This is the reason why I called it economical. The spices, onion and leaves scent brings out the aroma and taste of the food. This is my little food diary at my working place.
