Looks can be misleading

Though it is often true that "we are addressed the way we dress" it is also true that looks can be deceptive and as such, it will be unwise to base our conclusion solely on what meets the eyes.

People from the modern world are
drawn to appearance which are assessed on unfair assumptions.

Most people today will get to a conclusion based on a persons apperance and will use it as a bases for judgment.

• Well dress people are gentlemen.
• Anyone covered in tattoos are criminals.

Such conclussions can be far from the truth because some people are wolves in sheep clothing a testement to the truth that a book should not be judged by its cover.

We should endevour to look beyound the obvious because as the French would say "l'habit ne fait pas le moine" ("the cloth does not make the monk") It means that just because someone wears a certain attire or appears a certain way, it doesn't necessarily mean they possess the qualities or character associated with that appearance, intentions can't be judged by how someone looks or dresses. A reminder to avoid making misconceptions and judgments based on superficial characteristics.

It is also true that our dressing is a reflection of our innermost person, our choice as it can communicate our values and intention. As such, you should not underestimate the statement or message your dressing and grooming is saying about you.
It can function as an identity, enclothed cognition suggest that our clothing and appearance can influence how others perceive us, and even how we perceive ourselves.

While we should not base our conclusion on appearances, its good to recognize the fact that appearances is a good source of insight, providing some hints about a person.

I was once told that even the appearance of a persons handwriting can speak volumes about a person, but it will still be unfear to use this hints as conclusive evident on its own.

Appearance is like a spice, we need it in our decision making process, but depending on it alone is like cooking a soup that has pepper as its only ingredient when pepper should only come in as a spice in small proportion.
