  • Dancing
is really more than just us moving our body probably to the rhythm of music—"it's sincerely a way to so much express feelings, tells a stories, and so connect with the very past within us*.

Recently, I definitely do dance but here the chance to do something so special at my dear grandmother's funeral was extraordinary, a quality moment where the very rhythm of life did met the deep beats of my admired culture and love. I did performed a famous low waist dance by the Ibibio people, and not just as a dance alone but as a sincere tribute to a woman who did lived a much admired, achievable and remarkable life. This very dance was more like my way of saying a final goodbye and celebrating her genius legacy in a way that the words alone couldn't fully capture.

Tell us about the song you danced, like the artist and why you like it.

The very song I did danced to was a pleasing ibibio highlife tune by the Maccaire Band Group in the venue. "Highlife music" is always rich with the tradition and amazing emotion, often align to telling stories of life, love, and basically everything in between.

This very particular song was much perfect because it helps me captured the essence of my dear grandmother's life—her joys, her very challenges as a mother, and the wisdom she shared to us through advice and more. The Maccaire Band Group’s music do always strikes in a chord with me just because it blends so well with a powerful lyrics with rhythms that make me always want to move. The music is so so lively yet deep, a pretty perfect match for the occasion that everyone was got dancing with me.

[My Inspiration]

What Inspired Me to Dance?

The very inspiration ✨ for my costly dance steps came from my amiable grandmother herself. She indeed was a woman so full of life and much wisdom, always doing her best to encouraging us to do celebrate the good times and then face the bad times with much strength.

  • Her kind of lifestyle, advice, and too the way she faced life with much grace and joy were all brought to life through the song I chose to dance to after hearing it. Dancing here at her funeral I'll say wasn't just a performance; it did was a huge way to keep her dear spirit alive and so honor the lessons she did taught me through out her lifetime. The song definitely reminded me of all the very good times we shared with Mama, and so the dance became a sincere personal tribute to a life well-lived.

What's your advice to those who do not love dancing?

I'll so love to say that If you're someone who really doesn’t enjoy dancing, I sincerely encourage you to please give it a try. Dancing 🎵 I see it as a natural way to release emotions, as much connect with others, and probably even heal.

  • You certainly don't have to be so good or perfect or maybe know all the latest moves—but just let the music definitely guide you. Dancing can be more a joyful expression of who entirely you are, and it so can help you like feel more connected to your own emotions and the world around you perfectly. So, please next time you hear a quality good tune or you do play it yourself, don’t be at all afraid to let loose and please enjoy the moment.

[My Hearted 💝 well Wishers]

Tell us how you felt recording your dance video.

My dance video here was recorded by my very own course mate, Comrade Mfonobong Essien using his TECNO CAMON 20. It was to me a very special moment because I felt so surrounded with Love 💕 by friends like @bossj23 though he returned earlier, @usoro01, Comrade UyaiAbasi, Comrade Celina, and many others too and this people all dance with me. Their very presence really made the moment I had even more memorable and cheerful, as we all did came together to really celebrate my grandmother's life in our own unique ways. The video here is not just a recording at all—it's more a piece of memory, well capturing the emotions and of course the energy of the day.

Sharing the Dance on YouTube

To not have this moment owned to myself alone, I shared this special moment with the world entirely, I did uploaded the dance video to my YouTube Channel. It’s definitely a way for others around the globe 🌎 to see how we did honored my grandmother and so perhaps inspire them too to celebrate their loved ones in their own unique ways and not only that but get inspiration to dancing to things admired. You all can watch the dance here "YOUTUBE video1 YOUTUBE video2".
I sincerely hope it definitely brings a smile to all your faces and so reminds you of the best and pretty importance of celebrating life, even in the hardest times and hours.

Conclusion

This very week dance challenge contest, is indeed more to me than just a competition.
It help me to put to words my heartfelt tribute to my most cherish person "my grandmother".

  • So Dancing is basically a beautiful way to express love, our joy, and not excluding even sorrow. Please Whether you're what we called a seasoned dancer or just starting, always remember that in every step you do take is certainly a celebration of life. I agree that not all of us are fantastic dancers, but as long as we shake those bodies, we are "in."
What I do hear is you singing along.
Now, that is something that I won't be able to do.

Keep on shaking!
