I am a Filipina, a residence of "The Queen City of the South" - Cebu City, Philippines. I am a Mathematics teacher at one of the public schools in our town. I am happily married to @gilbertthegreat. My steemit name is @traderpaw.
If you are asking why @traderpaw? You are not alone. @fabio2614 once jokingly interpretated "traderpaw" means I trade my dogs. No, definitely not! So today I will be disclosing the truth behind my steemit name - @traderpaw.
The "trader" in my Steemit name:
I am not born with a gold spoon in mouth. I grew up selling fish at 5 years old. I am used to waking up at 12 midnight to meet the fish supplier and head to the biggest wet market in town of Cebu, Philippines to sell fish. I experienced how hard to earn money for a living by selling fish in the market. My grandmother is my inspiration for me to find ways (legal and right) to grow money but not as hard as selling fish in the market. Until I met friends who trade in the stock market and explained to me how stock market works - its just like selling fish in a wet market. We know the fact that "trading in the stock market is one way to grow your money fast". Right there and then, I studied how to trade in the stock market. I open a trading platform and learn how to do the fundamental and technical aspect in trading. That is where "trader" in my steemit name come from. I am currently an active trader in the Philippines Stock Exchange.
The "paw" in my Steemit name:
At present, I foster 17 dogs and 8 cats. Most of my dogs are adopted from neighbors and relatives who cannot afford taking care of dogs.
My cats by the way are picked from the streets which maybe thrown by their merciless owners.
The "paw" in my Steemit name is a dedication to the dogs and cats and all animals especially the stray, neglected and the abused.
Deciding on this Steemit username is not a piece of cake. I have a lot of Steemit names in mind such as "mathgeek" and "mathtrader" but these names are too much for me.
@traderpaw is a name that captures the curiosity of my fellow Steemians and they just can't resist of asking me why.
I dedicate this name to myself as a constant reminder to fearlessly take risk(trader) on opportunities and challenges but be "humble"(paw) like all creatures made by our almighty.
I am very satisfied and overwhelmed of my steemit name because it is a gentle reminder for me that even how many struggles I encounter in life, I am still very blessed in many ways. I met good friends in my trading journey and blessed to be mentored by them. I extended help to the animals because I believe they too deserve to be loved and to live as a part of the family.
I am happy with this name and there is no way that I will change it. @traderpaw is the summary of the my life - It is who I am.
