RE: {Steem Crypto Challenge #4} El futuro de las criptomonedas: caso práctico argentino
It is public knowledge that our currency no longer represents any store of value for us.
Store-of-value is one of the three important characteristics of money regardless of whether it is fiat or crypto. Even though with inflation the fiat store-of-value depreciates in time, it is not that much if contained within 5%for developing countries and 2% for developed countries. But considering PESO devaluation against USD significantly over the last 5 years, it's really a matter of concern. It does not serve the store-of-value function in that case, Excessive devaluation is not good for the economy either.
In my particular case, a few months ago I made the decision to pour my savings into cryptocurrencies that would convey security to me, such as DAI or USDT.
Good choice and a wise investment. I am happy to see that crypto has created an opportunity for people who are either suffering from excessive devaluation/hyperinflation of their local currency. I see crypto as an equilibrium mechanism for one and all. A truly global economy.
Thank you.
I agree with you, unfortunatelly this has become a serious problem. We have had devaluations of almost 50% in just a couple of days and at least 3 or 4 times in the last year. Still, it's actually hard to say all this, since I'm talking about my country...
Thank you for your comment! :)
