In the dowry case filed by his wife in Feni. The court sentenced a person named Ismail Hossain (28) to one year imprisonment.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Feni on Sunday (February 28). The verdict of this case was announced in the court of Zakir Hossain. Earlier, the couple got married through an affidavit in the chambers of a lawyer in Amate Feni of the family.

The plaintiff's lawyer Shah Mohammad Kaykobad said that Ismail Hossain, the son of Shariat Ullah of the same village, developed a love relationship with Ishita Akhter Priya, daughter of Nurul Absar of North Alipur village of Matubhuana union of Daganbhuana upazila. Both were unable to pressure their families for the marriage and got married on 6 January 2016 through an affidavit in the chambers of lawyer Rabiul Haque Ravi, despite the disapproval of family and relatives. After marriage, the family of both accepted them and brought them home. Since then husband Ismail kept demanding dowry from wife Priya and her guardians on various pretexts. Fed up with this, on May 21, 2018, the wife filed a case against her husband as a plaintiff.

After the investigation and testimony of the case, the judgment was announced on Sunday. In the verdict, husband Ismail Hossain was sentenced to one year of rigorous imprisonment and three months of unpaid imprisonment in default of payment of a fine of five thousand taka.

Court Bench Assistant Mohammad Zakir Hossain said that the accused was absconding since the case. After the verdict, the judge issued a warrant against the accused Ismail.
