Steem Fiction Contest #3 : My Preference

This is your story:

Terence's mind was also getting strange from the inside. Leaving Veenu and going back to duty, his life was threatened just thinking about it, but duty is duty. He was a paracommando, so there was an additional responsibility on his shoulders.

He was trying to keep Veenu happy so he could spend these few days with her in love and peace, but he was seeing that Veenu's eyes were filled with tears time and again. She kept silently wiping her tears, but Terence could understand her feelings.

Ten of the fifteen days of his leave had already passed. Terrence remembered how he thought about Veenu day in and day out during duty, and even after coming here, he could not sleep properly.

He stayed awake all night, looking at Veenu and stroking her hair. He didn't know how many months after going back from here he would not be able to see her again or if he would ever be able to see her or not.

There was pandemonium in his heart as he felt he would become the target of a bullet in the forest in the next search operation.

He silently wiped his eyes. He was a commando, but he was also a husband, and he loved his wife more than himself.

And now the my story ::

Terence went and kept in his special vehicle with his team after leaving Veenu.

He got married to Veenu just a year ago, and he beloved her with all his heart. Terence and his troop's destination was far away; they have to travel 400 kilometres through impossible routes and rugged forests.

yesterday, his headquarters issued an official notification that terrorists have entered the country's eastern boundary and are planning a big terrorist attack any day.

As a result, the country's finest commando contingent was assigned by decision to thwart the terrorists' plans.

Terence was a commando who got lessons in bomb disposal, missile launching, combat battling, aircraft flight, horseback riding, and paragliding.

Every member of his troop was fully capable of dealing with any risky or adverse situation.

The vehicle halt somewhere with a jolt, and they were told that they would stay here for an hour before continuing on, having food and so on, and that the route ahead would travel through the fierce woods . Their rival may also be awaiting to trap them , so everyone must remain vigilant.

After eating and resting for a while, they restarted their trip. A short distance ahead, their commander got a radio conversation saying that terrorists had been spotted in the forest ahead.

The commander directed that all members of the group march on foot so that the terrorists would not be aware of their arrival.

The vehicle came to a halt in the same location, and all of the commandos put on night vision goggles and took their weapons. They were now all prepared for any assault or unforeseen happening.

The commander directed the team members to stroll in groups of three, and they all wore earphones. After going 3-4 kilometres in the forest, a spark was seen somewhere far away, immediately warning the team, and all of them felt that the moment they had been waiting for had arrive.

And the same thing happened, suddenly unexpectedly gunfire began from the other side, the commandos were thrilled, today they got an opportunity to demonstrate what they had learned in training.

As the troops began shooting from various directions per their commander's orders, the foes' confidence was destroyed; they thought the entire army had attacked them, despite the fact that they numbered only 10-12 men. The commandos swiftly killed 8-9 Terrorists.

Their mastermind was clever; he ascended a tree and began shooting; a bullet struck Terence's shoulderand he was injured seriously ; Terence furiously grabbed his machine gun and fled away from where the bullet had been launched; he fired more bullets from there; and Terrorist was killed. The leader and two other militants who were hiding were slain.

Terence was placed on an ambulance and transported by aircraft to a nearby military hospital, where he regained consciousness after several days., and he saw Veenu was standing in front of him with tears in his eyes.
