Delayed Trains 🚂

A few days back, I had a class in Gampaha. I went there with my friend and we thought to go by train that day. We have to go by two trains.

The last few days were rainy and when it was around 6 pm it started to rain continuously. We were after the classes. As a result of the rain, the trains got delayed and it was late when we noted that. Anyhow we got a train from Gampaha to Ragama.

That's when the waiting game started. We were waiting for the other train and the platforms started to get too crowded. All the trains had got delayed and a single train going by our route didn't reach there. We were waiting in the rainy weather and it was around 8 pm when a train reached our platform. We couldn't go by as if we went by, we had to catch a bus again. After a while, another train came and fortunately, It was not as crowded as we expected.

But it was too slow to be true. It was around 10.30 pm when we got off by the station. It was a tiring day together with rain.

There was another thing which was happening at our home that day. In May, it is a usual thing to bring the statue of Mother Mary, from one home to another throughout the village. It is doing as a blessing for the family members and the home. Together with that Catholics go from home to home, to pray altogether. It was supposed to be our home that day.

Amma had done a simple preparation to welcome Mother Mary to our place. When I returned home all that had happened and the statue was there in the living room. It was supposed to bring to our neighbor's house the following day.

After all, it was a happening + tiring day even though I couldn't be at home on time.
