STEEM SRI LANKA YEAR-END CONTEST|LOOKING BACK AT 2021|| 5% SET TO @SL-CHARITY
5% set to @sl-charity
Good day amazing steem community. I sure do hope we are enjoying the yuletide season. Personally, it's my favourite time of the year ranging from the festivities to the joy of seeing friends and family after a long year then the weather. This year, I'm experiencing the cold on a whole new level. Guess it's because I'm just experiencing cold in the northern part of Nigeria for the first time. So, I want to thank @randulakoralage and @steemsrilanka for this contest and opportunity to review my year with this amazing community.
How I Planned my Year and How it Went
Well, I started my year abit apprehensive considering that the covid-19 induced lockdown was gradually being eased and it was my final year in school and finances were abit shaky. At that point, I realised that I had to maintain positivity and high hopes for the year and I must confess that the year turned out better than I had hoped.
Good Memories and Sad Memories
The year started on quite a sad note for me and holds many sad memories. It started in January with the burial of my uncle although he was quite advanced in age. Then I got a sad news of a friend that lost both parents in a fatal accident and on that same day a dear colleague of mine who was on her way back from her traditional marriage with her family was involved in an accident which claimed her life and the lives of her mother, older brother and younger sister leaving the dad as the only survivor. It was really tragic but like I'll always say, be grateful to God for everything. I also had good memories too from the day of my last exam as an undergraduate to my project defence and thanksgiving service. They are all memories I'll always remember.

Achievements and Losses
In this year, I was able to complete my first degree and also go for my 1year national service. I was able to take some professional courses and as work on my online visibility. I was able to work on my personal development more intentionally and the the TEDx conference I attended was a step in that direction. Also in this year, I lost loved ones most painfully my uncle who was instrumental to my education. I lost friendships although I don't totally regret some of them. I lost money to some futile ventures though I've learnt my lessons.

Things I Learned
This year has really taught me alot. In this year I learnt the power of purpose discovery in man's life, I learnt trust in God, I learnt patience and the ability to live with people despite differences (trust me, this particular one wasn't easy at all). I learnt the virtues of time management ad well as financial management. I learnt how to appreciate family more and how to treat those who genuinely care about me
Growth on Steemit
I joined steemit early this year through a friend of mine @beewrites and I really had plans to grow my steempower and also contribute to building a better steem community then I was moved to the north which forced me to see off my steem so as to generate money to sustain myself(an action that I regret). Nonetheless, I'm doing all my possible best to attain even greater height in the community. Being on steemit has helped me develop my writing skills to be more engaging and helped me to task my brain more to produce more content. I've developed my text-formatting abilities and also gained basic knowledge of cryptocurrencies through crypto academy.
Conclusion
I believe that the year isn't over until it is over therefore, a whole lot of good things can still happen. We just have to keep an open and positive mind. Miracles really do happen and wishes do come true. As I wrap up this post, I wish you all a merry christmas and a prosperous new year.
I want to invite @estysam, @beewrites and @prolee to participate in this contest using the link below.👇👇👇
