Weekly CRICKET Review - XXVIII | IPL Update III - Just Before the Finals

How's everything going folks? You already know that I am sharing a weekly wrap-up of the things that are going on within the Cricket community. However, in the last two weeks, there were no significant international matches, anyway, now I am back with the 28th edition.

Well, as I said there were no significant international matches in the last week, I thought to talk about the latest update on IPL. Even though I have both positive and negative feedback on this, I can't ignore the biggest franchise Cricket league on the planet. So, let's dig more.

The 16th edition of IPL was started on the 31st of March, and as of the 27th of May, all 70 matches of Group Stage, 2 qualifier matches, and the eliminator match have been played. CSK and GT will be faing each other at the finals tommorrow.

• Well, as I predicted in the last week, GT, CSK, LSG, and MI were through to the playoffs. It was a very thrilling and tough scenario until the last moment.

• RR and KKR who were a bit promising at first, couldn't go through. And, the hope of RCB is still counting. Even though after having some superstar players, they couldn't do it as a team. Always there's something lacking in them. Anyone is welcome to explain it.

• Well, after all, it's the year of Subhaman Gill. He has already proved that he is the next big thing in Indian Cricket, and most probably in the world. In the last 4 innings, he has scored 3 centuries. And earlier he missed 2 in the nineties. He has already a Test century, ODI centuries, and a double century, a T20I century. Believe me, he is just 24 years.

• Centuries so far - 3 fromGill, 2 from Kohli, one from Heinrich Klaasen, Jaiswal, Venkatesh Iyer, Simran Singh, Harry Brook, SKY, and Green.

• Well, you can see how GT is dominating so far in the tournament, with the top 3 ballers.

• The only hattrick came from Rashid and there were four fifers from Akash Madhwal, Mohit Sharma, Mark Wood, and Bhuvi.

Playoffs

• Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings, Qualifier 1 - Well, the defending champions, GT is one of the best teams with Gill in amazing form, captain Hardik against CSK the team which is forming and performing around Thala Dhoni. Batting first CSK scored 172/7 which is pretty good to defend. And as a team of effort of balling CSK restricted them at 157/10, and advanced to the finals.

In the 16 seasons, CSL is there for 14 seasons, and it has been to the playoffs 12 times, 10 times to the finals, and has won 4 times. Unarguably it's the best IPL franchise.

• Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians, Eliminator - Batting first MI scored 181 runs in their 20 overs. Nothing big contribution but they all did it well. Then there's nothing from LSG, it was a total disappointment after great performances. They ended up scoring only 101 runs. Akash Madhwal destroyed the MI innings with 5 wickets just for 5 runs.

• Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians, Qualifier 2 - Well, it was once again Gill's show. Batting first GT scored 233 runs in their 20 overs. Gill just destroyed the ballers with 129 runs off just 60 balls. It was just pure and fearless battling from the youngster. Chasing the target MI was all out for 171 runs in 18 overs. Mohit Sharma got 5 wickets for 10 runs.

So, it has been a great tournament so far. So, we have the finalists. Who will be the winners this time?
