India vs Australia T20I Series

  • Well, the two finalists are straight away facing for a 5-match T20I series. Anyway, both the teams are playing with young players without most of the senior players. India is under the captaincy of SKY and the Australian team is led by Wade. This will be a nice warmup for the young Aussie players with the BBL coming up!!

  • Four matches have been over and India has already won the series 3-1. But will it recover them from the World Cup loss? 😛😛

  • Aussies started the batting in the first game and after their 20 overs, they put a total of 208/3. Smith opened the innings for the first time and scored a fifty, and Josh Inglish hammered a ton with 8 mammoth sixes. After 2 early wickets in the chase Kishan and SKY put a 110-runs partnership. SKY played his natural t20 game and even after a small collapse in the latter, Rinkhu singh finished the match in the final ball, with a quick 22 runs.

  • In the next one India batted first and put a total of 235/4. Top 03, Jaiswal, Gaikwad and Ishan scored fifties and RInkhu finished off in style with 31* off 9. It was a tough ask upfront for the Aussies , lost 04 wickets in 8 overs and Indian spinners nicely slowed the run rate. Eventhough they had moments in the middle, Krishna and Arshadeep done well in the latter to restrict Aussies to 191/9.

  • The third match was the show. India once again batted first and put a total of 222/3. It just seems passing 200 is getting easier. Anyway, Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed the Aussie ballers upfront making 123 in just 57 balls. At one point they were 155 after 17 overs. They made all in the last 03. Infact the 20th over from Maxwell went for 30 runs.

Eventhough Aussies came up with firey start, they lost 03 wickets in 6 overs for 68 runs. But then once again Maxwell came to the rescue. He just dominated the Indian baller scoring the fastest T20I hundred for Aussies in 47 balls, with three giant sixes. They scored 1 runs in the last over to win it in the last ball.

Bangladesh vs New Zealand Test Series

  • Test Cricket also started straight away with the Kiwis touring in Bangladesh. Both the teams were with their total strength here.

  • Bangladesh started the innings and just before the first day they were all out for 310 runs. Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored a fifty and Phillips got 4 wickets. Anyway it was not easy to bat on for Kiwis, especially against the spinners. They lost regular wickets, when only Kane hold the ground with a ton. They were all out for 317 runs, with just 07 runs lead.

  • In the second innings, BD batted nicely racing 338 runs, with a magnifican t 100 from Shanto and half centuries from Rahim and Miraz. NZ had almost 2 days to reach the target of 332 runs. But Ban had other plans restricting them for just 181 runs. Taijul Islam took 06 wickets becoming the man of the match.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024

  • Uganda made history by qualifying for their first-ever ICC T20 World Cup. In the Africa qualifiers, they defeated Zimbabwe and removed them from the world cup for the consecutive times. That win was Uganda's first-ever T20 international win against full-member team.

So here are the 20 teams that qualified,

  • The hosts - United States, West Indies.
  • Top-eight teams in the 2022 T20 World Cup - Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka
*Next two top teams in the ICC T20 rankings at the end of 2022T20 World Cup - Afghanistan, Bangladesh
  • European qualifiers - Ireland, Scotland
  • Asian qualifiers - Nepal, Oman qualified
  • North America - Canada
  • East Asia-Pacific - Papua New Guinea

So, that's it for this week. I hope you will find it interesting. Let's meet with the new winner in the next week.!!

Until the next time! Enjoy!

Thank you.
Best Regards!
