"බෝ මලුවේ මල් සුවදක පැටලී
අම්මා පෙව් කිරි සුවද ගලා එන්නේ.....
සුපුරුදු උණුහුමකට සිත ඈදී
ගේදොර සෙල්ලම් පිටිය මතක් වෙන්නේ....
දං බෝවිටියා කැලේ මැදින්
එන්න සිතයි නුඹ ලගට සැනින්...."
Singer--Sanath Nandasiri
Lyricist Priyananda Wijesundara
The song is about a little monk, who misses his mom and home. He is having a mixed feeling between being a regular kid or a monk.
I remembered this because today, the morning almsgiving for the temple was from our home. There are two little monks in the temple.
From ancient times, the lifestyle of Sri Lankan people is centered around the temple. It's the head of the village.
So, in our village temple, the almsgiving is scheduled among villagers for breakfast and lunch. People would never miss it, no matter what. The teachings and philosophy of Lord Buddha have influenced that much.
This philosophy aimed solely at liberating sentient beings from suffering. The ultimate position is 'Nirwana', a state of complete bliss, liberation from the limitations and desires of the physical world, and the end of the cycle of rebirth and suffering.
On the other hand, just remember in your daily life,
No one can escape death and unhappiness. If people expect only happiness in life, they will be disappointed. Things are not always the way we want them to be, but we can learn to understand them.
Mother and I went to the temple around 6.30 a.m with prepared breakfast. We lit oil lamps, incense coils, and offered flowers. Then I meditate for a little time in the calm environment.
After offering the food I talked sometimes with the monk. He gave me a few books to refer about meditation and the mind.
I especially wanted to share this post, to spread few messages.
Always try to focus on your mental wellbeing and spiritual development.
Happiness will never come if you don't appreciate the little things you have.
What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.
Have faith in yourself. Good things are yet to come, my friends.
Thank you!
Best Regards!
Nice work @damithudaya
Thanks friend...
Almsgiving is a perfect work and it was good habit since more years. You compared nicely Sanath nandasiri's song with little monks. It's so meaningful song and I really prefer to listen.
Yeah, it's a great song. That generation has given us a great collection of music
One of my favorite song ❤️
#onepercent #affable #SriLanka
Thanks for visiting
❤
In my village, there are three little monk in the temple. Their favourite hobby is drawing arts. And in the evening , they play with same age boys in the village... every time when I see it, I remember the song of Harshana Disanayake,
වෙල් එලියට වැඩියා අම්මේ
මඩ තවරාගෙන තරඟෙට දිව්වා
නියර දිගේ එක පිම්මේ
Yeah that also, great song... But when I hear this song of Mr.Nandasiri it always feels like me as a little monk.
Hey @sandupi, When I read this article at once remembered short story "Monkeys" which we were learnt in our O/Ls. Do you?
What's that? what's that?
It's about a little monk who love to play with monkeys with the absence of friends. A heart touching short story ❤️
Yeah... In o/l I selected that question also...🤗🤗

It was worth coming here. 👏👏
We have answers for every struggle face in our day today life from Buddhism. Problem is we don't follow them. We only think of temporary solutions at that point. Without thinking of a ultimate solution.
Last 3 points, I appreciate them the most. 🙌🙌
Thanks for the feedback friend. Yeah, Buddhism shows us the path, the choice is ours
Alms giving is one of the most common practices among Buddhists. Once in every month noon-almsgiving is given by our home to the monks in our village temple. We do it very happily.
Yeah... That procedure is really good. One way or another, we get a chance for a good work
