FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MOVIE| Steem Sri Lanka: Contest Series – Week 04 | Taare Zameen Par

Childhood is the most beautiful part of one's life. Everything is interesting and different. We lived in our own world happily. On the other hand, this phase will completely decide who you are in the future. Because it's the time we collect most of our memories. For sure they can stick with us for a lifetime.

When I see the contest favorite movie in my childhood by @praveenw96 one film just popped into my mind. It's 'Taare Zameen Par' Hindi movie. Well, I don't like to just describe it as a childhood movie. It is a great inspiration for anyone, no matter the age.

Why I like it?

I guess it might be 13 or 14 years old when I watched this movie for the first time. A little kid, but tried to understand society. But I'm sure most of these ideas came with time.

The movie basically revolves around dyslexia (learning disability) affected child, Ishaan. He is a slow learner but really stick to art. Well, you might know how our society reacts to this kind of situation. They say, learn! learn! learn! no matter what. I'm glad that I could have a balanced childhood.

The movie flows with the relationship of this little kid with his mom and dad, brother, teachers, friends. The moments of trauma, joy, the sorrow of his life just nicely portraits in the movie. Yeah, I still remember his emotions. And throughout this movie, it can be related to every child at least one time.

Well, as I said earlier, the story is about Ishan who is passionate about painting, doesn't care damn about his studies. Always he receives punishments and insults from his family, teachers, and friends. His mother gives up her carrier for him. On the other hand, his brother does his best in his every move, becoming the favorite of the father.

Kid, Mom, and the home

Then he was sent to a boarding school. The sorrow, anxiety, depression was more than ever, and gradually lost interest in painting.

This song shows his emotions for his mother and how he misses the family. I'm sure you all have been there.

At one time, he losses interest in life and try to suicide himself. But the miracle happens when Mr.Nikumbh(Aamir Khan), joins as his new art teacher.

"There is no such thing as a bad student, only a bad teacher" - Miyagi

Well, apart from the home, the teacher and the school is an important part of a child's life. The higher the confidence they give, the higher the child grows. I'll tell you one thing, my friends,

'Never tell a kid he can't do anything'. It will crush him, and totally affect his mentality.

Here, Mr.Nikumbh identifies Ishan's condition and he has to face great difficulties in convincing his family about this problem. But he takes full responsibility. He is a cheerful and optimistic mentor who thinks out of the box, identifies Ishaan's hidden interests in art.

Mr.Nikumbh uses remedial techniques developed by dyslexia specialists with constant care. Ironically, he also has struggled with this same situation as a child. So, with his experience, gradually Ishaan improves in his journey.

The complete story tells how love and affection change his life.

The song below is a performance of a bunch of mentally disabled kids. It's normal to feel some tears at this moment.

So, that's it about the movie. Most of the scenes can be related to our own lives, and more simple scenes make it more realistic. Aamir, the little kid, and all the actors surely did a great job. And also, the songs of the movie also are really heart touching and on the spot.

So, this is my favorite movie in childhood, and I will watch it again and again. I just invite you all to give it a try, it will no be in vain.
