Is Ronaldo really equalled world goalscoring record??

in World Of Football ⚽4 years ago
After scoring a pair of goals with Sassuolo the day before yesterday, several media outlets reported that Ronaldo, along with Joseph Beacon, was the best goal scorer of all time. But has Ronaldo really touched Beacon's record? Who is the best goal scorer of all time? Let's look into the matter.

It has not been long since detailed statistics of football goals have started to be kept. Many matches, especially outside Europe, have not yet been officially announced. Ronaldo does not have that problem. He has a perfect record of 759 official goals, for a club or a country - 5 for Sporting Lisbon, 118 for Manchester United, 450 for Real Madrid, 64 for Juventus, and 102 for Portugal. But the problem is with Ronaldo's predecessors.

Who is Joseph Beacon? The footballer was from the Czech Republic, having played in Austria and the Czech Republic from the 1930s to the 1960s - mainly in clubs such as Ravid Vienna and Slavia Prague. In all, he is thought to have scored 805 career goals, again in 530 matches. But there is also confusion. Bikan scored 27 of those goals for Rapid's reserve and amateur teams. He has scored some more goals for the national team which are not official. The RSSF, the organization that keeps football records, says Bikan's official career goals are 759. However, during World War II, Austria scored some goals in the second division, of which no account was found. As such, Ronaldo has touched Beacon, and will soon leave.

But there are more controversies. A few days ago, after Messi's 643 goals for Barcelona, Pele's controversy came up a new. It was said that Messi now has the most career goals for a club. But a statement from Santos said that the record belongs to Pele. Pele himself wrote in his Instagram bio, ‘Leading goalscorer of all time (1283).’ Although Pele has 1091 goals as Santos. But here too Pele has a lot of goals in unofficial or friendly matches. He scored also goals for the military team. Excluding these, Pele's record stands at 656, for Santos, the New York Cosmos, and Brazil.

Romario, meanwhile, claims his goals have exceeded a thousand. He also celebrated the milestone of 1000 goals in 2006. Romario has scored 745 goals if the goals of youth teams, friendly matches, and unofficial matches are excluded. But even that is not entirely certain. Meanwhile, Messi is not far behind, there is no controversy about his 619 goals. At the end of Ronaldo-Messi's career, one of the two will be the 'official' top scorer of all time undoubtedly. So can Ronaldo be collectively called the highest goal scorer of all time? Pele and Romario will certainly not agree, nor will the family of Beacon, who left in 2001??

It seems the goals of these star players are so much that it is quite difficult to ascertain the exact figure. Great players 🙌

Great post!!!

Hey, can you cite the image of the players in your first picture too? I can see you merged three different ones.

Thanks.
I have cited the background image. The link to Ronaldo's image is here and the link to Beacon's image is here.
