"Greening my village|Greening my village"(India in totality)

I would like to thank the management team of Steem Indonesia for organising such a relevant topic of global importance for sustainable living. As per the rules I would like to invite three of my friends to participate in the contest @simaroy @saha10 @sur-riti .

My write-up is as follows:

What is the meaning of greening and its benefits?

The act of greening generally means incorporating more environmentally friendly systems into one's environment, such as the work place, home and general lifestyle. Greening is also a general term for the appropriate selection and planting of plants in public parks and around the buildings.

A significant role in how much carbon dioxide plants capture and store will depend upon plants ability to produce the amount of plants leaves and changes in greening. In a hundred years of lifetime, one tree absorbs around a tonne of CO2.

In addition to direct health benefits, greening has been associated with the reduction of traffic-related air pollutants, improved environmental quality, global greenhouse gas emissions.

What is the important role of reforestation in preventing floods and landslides?

In name of tourism and religious pilgrimage there are massive construction of Hotel, Mall, Market and roads & bridges have taken place destroying nature in name of development and modernization.

As of 2021, BRO had constructed roads over 60,000 kilometres (37,282 mi), permanent bridges over 450 with a total length of over 60,000 metres (37 mi) length and airfields in 19 strategic locations in India.

As a direct impact of that in the month of October, 85,870 people affected by the flash flood and many people died, 14 bridges were either washed out or submerged in the Himalayan state Sikkim of India.

Similarly on the night of 2 January 2023, calamity struck the Himalayan town of Joshimath, parts of the town subsided, cracks appeared on building and roads and buildings tilted dangerously.

River flood in plane is a yearly event in many states of India. This happen due to sporadic and scattered rain fall for climate change and carbon emissions by excessive use of fuel operated vehicles.

Few Facts about India

India is the highest populated country (1,428,627,663). Delhi is the national capital. Mumbai is the business capital. Kolkata was national capital prior to Delhi in British Empire.

It has total land area covering 3,287,263 km2. 9.6% comprises water body. Population density is 422.5/km2.

The technical change started with the introduction of British Crown rule in 1858.

Four biodiversity hotspots comprises India's megadiverse land, with 713,789 km2 (21.7%) forest cover of its area.

Under the National Action Plan on Climate Change National Mission for a Green India (GIM) is one of the eight Missions.

The target is 10 m ha on forest and non-forest lands to increase the forest / tree cover and improving the quality of existing forest under the Mission. Other two important

missions are sustainable agriculture and sustaining Himalayan ecosystems.

Mizoram In the northeast India has more than 90% of its area covered under forests.

According to the map by NASA, the world's largest populations are contributingmost to earth's leaves, making it a greener and better place to live.
