What are social issues in fashion?

---

Fashion trends emerge and fade. It's temporal feature is what makes it a 'trend'.
Fashion, as many may think, isn't just a reinvention of some lofty existing idea that is awoken to suit our wardrobe taste; it is more than that. It is rather an expression of personality, thoughts and conviction considered worthy enough to be portrayed for recognition.

Over the years, an individual's appearance has proven to posses the ability to provide nonverbal communication signals, such as hints about his or her social standing, values, and way of life.

In today's world, we can see that fashion has become a vital part of our lives especially with Generation Z in mind. There are many social issues in fashion but I'll be highlighting just one of them which is the disparity. The disparity between the rich and the economically volatile sections. This disparity is often caused by how expensive these fashion trends can be to maintain. With their prices greatly influenced by ostentatious nature.

What would be the future of fashion?

---

Personally, I think the future for fashion looks really promising. I mean, with the number of creatives springing up especially from the Generation Z, we can only expect better.

With the prodigy of fashion being classified into two main classes; the haute couture, that is the high fashion often trend-setting, created exclusively for the wealthy and high-status personas in the society.

The other is known as Everyday Fashion, which is a responsive mechanism through which the endeavoring individuals of the society intentionally convey their personality, convictions and value in an idiosyncratic manner in the pattern of clothing style.

What are the changes you have seen due to fashion trends in yourself?

The success of a trend is greatly determined by how widely it is accepted by the society it is presented to. And the society's acceptance is further determined by their values and behavioral traits

Our today's world consumer culture is now led by self-assertiveness that has further shrunk the wide gap between the high class and low class when it comes to accepting and engaging a trend

Fashion trends positive & negative impacts on society/ on your personality

I only recently started taking interest in the fashion world and hope to be relevant in that world very soon, but so far, I have seen and observed how much of an impact fashion has had on our world today— both negatively and positively.

Firstly , one of the important impacts is personality discovery. Yes. Fashion has helped and is still helping a lot of people discover and take pride in who they are.

It has helped a lot of people express their personality, thoughts and beliefs without even having to speak.

Personally, fashion has improved my self esteem greatly, given that I used to be a really shy and anxious person while growing up, fashion has helped me be more comfortable in my skin and space. I dress a certain way and feel on top of the world, but if/when I dress outside of my style, I feel my confidence level drop.

There's also the appreciation of aesthetic experiences. I mean, I don't think there's a better way to show you appreciate an art than bodying that art. Sometimes, I wear stuff simply because I appreciate its style and stylist. I am one person who appreciates beautiful things. And aesthetics is beauty in itself.

The society, especially the generation Z, is greatly impacted by fashion. To take part in the contest, I cordially invite @jueco, @akareen and @christnenye.
