Lying Biden

Today I haven't looked at the mainstream media headlines yet, but I bet they're not saying that Joe Biden was lying through his teeth in the debate last night. Instead they'll fawn over Biden's announcement that he will pick a female VP and appoint the first black woman judge to the supreme court.

The debate last night was hosted by CNN, and of course the moderators did not follow up on Biden's stone-faced lies about his decades long voting-record. We also saw a Bernie Sanders last night that was for the first time attacking Biden on his record; he didn't even call Joe "my friend," also for the first time this campaign. Sanders asked Biden a simple question about advocating cuts to social security, medicaid and veterans programs, which Biden did repeatedly on the Senate floor. Biden is one of the most right-leaning Democrats, a true product of the "third way" movement, someone who believes that to "get things done", compromises should be made to the Republicans; the reason Biden called for cuts to the social safety net was to make deals with the Republicans. But Joe refused to tell the truth, and instead referred to his debate with Paul Ryan, which wasn't about cutting social security, but about privatizing it. Admitted, that's even worse, but it's not honest to answer "I'm against privatizing social security", when you're asked if you advocated for cutting social security; those are two different things entirely.

The tragedy is this; people are going to come out to vote against Trump, and only to vote against Trump, as Biden's program doesn't give voters something to vote FOR. If Biden wins and becomes the next POTUS, the people of America will have succeeded in replacing one pathological liar with another, that's the tragedy. And the mainstream media, who are funded by the same donors that contribute to Biden's campaign, will cover this up. I'm writing this early today because I have other engagements, but I would be surprised if Biden's lies, this was just one of several last night, will make the headlines; I suspect not, because the moderators already started protecting him in the debate last night by trying to accuse Sanders of also having advocated for "gradual changes" to social security programs; fortunately Bernie defused that smear immediately by correctly adding that his proposed changes always involved expanding social security, not cutting it.

Well, tomorrow there are elections again, Florida and 4 or 5 other states will go to the polls and as things stand now, Biden will once again be victorious; I hope Sanders can surprise us again like he did in 2016 when he made a come-back against Hillary Clinton. In a race between Biden and Trump, the American people will once gain be left with a choice for the lesser of two evils, a choice I would ignore by not voting for either of them.
