Educational Tourism Visiting the Aceh Tsunami Museum
while visiting the Aceh tsunami museum
Assalamu'alaikum Wr.Wb.
I hope you are all in good health and all your activities are going well.
Today I'm back to share content about my educational travel to visit a museum in my area, the *** Aceh tsunami museum***.
That day was my first visit to the museum, previously I had heard about the story of the fame of the * Aceh tsunami museum * which is an artistic building built as a reminder and at the same time a historical monument about the tsunami disaster that hit Aceh on 26 December 2004.
the magnificent and beautiful museum building
The tsunami museum that stands majestically in the capital of Aceh province is located in the city centre, here is the location https://w3w.co/listen.received.mugs. The museum is a two-storey building designed by architect Mr Ridwan Kamil and was inaugurated in 2008.
When arriving at the Aceh tsunami museum, you can immediately see the magnificent and artistic building, unique and the wavy shape of the building looks like tsunami water waves.
with friends visiting the tsunami museum
When entering the tsunami museum building, you will find a narrow and dark hallway that depicts the atmosphere. Then you will find a bright room that depicts hope when the tsunami has ended.
looking at the photos on display
On the first floor of the tsunami museum building, there is an exhibition room that displays the situation in Aceh before the tsunami hit in 2004.
tsunami hit in 2004, then there is also the atmosphere of the Aceh region during the tsunami and finally the post-tsunami situation. Everything is a record of the condition of the Aceh region. Photographs, artefacts and personal narratives of tsunami victims are displayed, illustrating the pain and sorrow when the tsunami hit Aceh at that time.
There were also stories of courage, resilience and the recovery period after the tsunami. Everything was a valuable lesson for me and my friends who visited that day.
looking at the names of tsunami victims
We also saw the names of tsunami victims displayed in the reflection room, all as a tribute to the memory of those who had passed away when the tsunami occurred. We felt touched when we were in that room.
On the second floor of the tsunami museum, there are educational media such as a library, teaching aids, a 4-dimensional room and a souvenir shop.
the atmosphere of the room in the museum
By visiting the tsunami museum, I understand the history of the tsunami in Aceh, the causes of the tsunami and its dangers. At the same time, I understand the importance of preparedness for natural disasters.
This was my first visit to the Aceh Tsunami Museum, which has given me many valuable insights, experiences and education about the tsunami and its lessons for the people of Aceh in particular.
