Hello dear friends, it's such an honor to participate in this week's engagement challenge. Agriculture is an important field in this generation, despite the fact that most nations are drifting away towards oil. Still, I am glad you are sharing a contest that would improve the agricultural sector of individuals or nations.

Describe in detail how agricultural productivity is affected by climate change.

In agriculture one of the very important criteria to be monitored is the climate of the location or locality, this has to do with the weather conditions of that environment. It determines The hotness or coldness of that environment and it also affects how different fruit crops or plants that we go I got period in time.

This is one of the basic reasons why some environments are known to grow a specific set of food better than another environment. For example, in Nigeria, my country, the southern part of Nigeria which has so much rainfall is known to produce foods like rice, plantain, and bush mango seed. Obonno seed. Although some other parts do produce this foodstuff, this southern part is known to produce this type of food in larger quantity and bigger quality. Also in the northern part of Nigeria where there is higher sunshine, a chance that needs more sunshine like tomatoes and onions is known to be produced in very large quantities and fresh quality compared to other places in the country.

In the Eastern parts of the country plants like bitter kola nuts and even palm kernel are known to be better and healthier than other parts of the country, In the western part of the country plants like Coco are known to go very much in this western part of the country compared to any other place in the country. So with this, you understand that the climate of a specific area really affects the productivity of crops and fruits.

Discuss how extreme rains and extreme droughts damage crops.

In as much as some plants flourish in locations where they might have a more rainy climate or a hot climate, plants still need at least an average amount of water and an average amount of sunshine for photosynthesis to occur efficiently and effectively. So therefore it becomes very difficult for this plant to survive in harsh weather conditions where there is too much rainfall or too much sunshine.

For instance imagine if an environment has constant rainfall for one month without sufficient sunshine, all the crops around that environment are expected to suffer malnutrition. This is because these plans especially green plants really need sunshine to help generate healthy plant growth for these crops and a healthy food product when your time for harvest finally comes.

In some way despite the fact that some plants need a higher amount of sunshine, the amount of sunshine that comes with the drought climate is too intense to permit green crops to survive. Also when there is so much sunshine pretends to be lower rainfall which might cause dehydration to this plant therefore automatically causing them to dry off.

In summary, saying that goes by too much of everything is very bad, and as it stands this saying also affects plants just as they affect human beings or any other living organism in the world.

Discuss in stages how new pests and diseases are emerging as a result of climate change AND what measures farmers can take to prevent them.

One of every farmer's enemies is pests and diseases, this is because they can cause a lot of damage to your agricultural crops, and the bad thing is when they attack the results are usually devastating too drastic that the result might be irreversible and therefore generate so much lost to the farmer who has the crops.

The good things that this enemy of farmers could be mitigated hindered and destroyed before that impact or effect could horse irreversible actions. These diseases could be a result of so many factors which include climate factors, disease outbreaks, or even the migration of rodents from one location to another.

• One of the serious factors that could cause the spread of disease among crops is planting some already affected crops close to other plants that are free from infections or disease. One of the basic ways to avoid such incidents is to check the crops or seeds to confirm if they are infected or not before mixing them up with other plants.

• Climate factors or even human factors can also cause pests like locusts and rodents to migrate from one location to another, in the process of migration these pests tend to destroy everything that comes their way including healthy crops of plant products. The best way to solve such issues is usually by creating fences around your farm or adding scarecrows all over your farm to stay away from this pest. Also, another way to chase away pests and insects is by applying chemicals known as insecticides or pesticides to help eliminate this unwanted enemy on farmers.

• Farmers should try to pay full attention to their crops please because neglecting crops would definitely affect the growth and health of their plants and their outcome is what farmers expected from those plants. This is because neglecting plants would cause unwanted plants and weeds to grow around and therefore generate different types of diseases or infections to that plant or the farm.

Discuss what changes in irrigation systems are required due to climate change.

Irrigation is the act of efficiently producing water for crops, through artificial methods
This practice is very famous in locations where the climate condition is sunny and less rainy, over the over time we have seen similar cases in deserts or Nations close to deserts. This irrigation method is done to help increase the amount of water these plants get because of the dry nature of the climate.

• In some Nations where they are less rainfall they use the recycling method to produce water for irrigation, for example, Nations like Israel usually try to recycle water from all over the country. This water is used for home use and irrigation purposes, the Israelites use the drip irrigation method to use a minimal amount of water to water their crops.

• in a nation like Korea, they use mechanical tools to shoot Silver iodide into the sky to cause the cloud to be produced artificially, this is another way to easily start irrigation where the climate condition has failed to produce sufficient rainfall for the crops and plants in the different respective farms.

• In a course to produce rainfall for plants and crops there have been so many technologies usually in robotic format, this technology is used to generate charges on the cloud which is expected to make the cloud produce sufficient rainfall for the clubs and plants in the farm.

Explain the two best ways to respond to climate change

I know you might say I've been producing a lot of quotes in this post but permit me to use one more quote in this post, which goes "The best way to stop something is to tally prevent the things from actually starting to happen". One of the main causes of climate changes and negative climate conditions is the natural acts we perform destroy the ozone layer, talking about action that destroys our ozone layer I'm talking about the high emission of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. If the act of producing this toxic gas is stopped or reduced then there is a high chance that the world climate condition will be stable once again.

I think there should be global enlightenment programs to stop people from burning waste illegally, instead, they should be told how they should dispose of this waste in a recycle bin where it could be converted into something else or disposed of properly without destroying our ozone layer

Also, a global Plant More Tree program should be sponsored and promoted properly, this is because the presence of small green trees in our various environments the less amount of carbon dioxide is seen in our various environments. This is because trees are known to inhale carbon dioxide and take out oxygen which reduces carbon dioxide from the sky and strengthens is ozone layer of our respective environment.

In Conclusion

In conclusion, the professor taught me some awesome knowledge and I am glad enough that I was a participant in such awesome classes, I hope with such knowledge people will learn to do protect climate conditions by doing necessary things and avoiding things that would worsen the condition.

Observations and suggestions:

Your introduction and response to task 1 clearly show an understanding of the question. This was replicated in your identification of crops vis-a-vis performance preference in their geographical locations.

In task 2, I expected more details in this regard. This was handled peripherally. Extreme rains not only limit the sunshine period when prolonged, but they also cause "leaching," "soil degradation" (erosion), and possibly "plant lodging," which exposes them as well to pest and disease infestation, and damage.

Notwithstanding, you have satisfactorily answered all tasks with commensurate experience. We appreciate your entry and hope to see you again.

Thanks professor,, I appreciate

Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.

Not only due to climate change, there has been a change in the agricultural sector but also in all sectors. People's lifestyles have changed. Monsoon is now seen after a few days after the time when it rained. Climate change is the main reason for these changes and fluctuations in the world. We should raise awareness and take action accordingly. If this continues, maybe we will see the rainy season during the winter. Big changes will occur and it will be beyond our grasp. Already we see only two of our six Ritus.

Very precise and detailed presentation. I like how you try to bring relatable examples into the body of your work. There's a saying that goes "flow with the wind". In this case, Climate change might make farmers adopt such notion because everything is to be expected when dealing with changing seasons.
Overall, wonderful layout of the topic.
