The Beach Boys - Barbara Ann

Part of the songs that made up the album Beach Boys Party (1965) included a version of Barbara Ann of The Beach Boys, a theme that The Regents had previously performed. The Beach Boys' version, which Capital Records released as a single on December 20, 1965, without the band's consent, quickly surpassed the Regents original as a hit song. ranking third on the UK charts and second on the US Billboard.

Although Carl Wilson can be heard thanking Dean for his contribution at the end of the song, Dean Torrence of Californian rock and roll duo Jan and Dean was never credited for performing the song with Brian Wilson on the study. accompanied by "Thank you, Dean."

Other bizarre later renditions of this song also deserve mention, including those made by The Who just a year later for the film The Kids Are Allright and sung by drummer Keith Moon, as well as the parody that appears on every Despicable Me installment (in In Spanish, Gru is referred to as the movie's favorite villain; in English, he is known as Barbara Ann) when the Minions sing a Barbara Ann that has become The Banana Song.
