Before March 2020 the dance and music community was not receiving any support. It received some help in 2020 and 2021 but has received almost no support for the last two years.
After the hard fork in March 2020 that led to the creation of HIVE, Steemit continued to operate as a separate blockchain. However, as many users migrated to the HIVE blockchain, it experienced a significant decline in its user base and activity levels.
Steemit's ownership remained with Tron founder Justin Sun, and there were some controversies surrounding his management of the platform. In May 2020, Steemit Inc. entered into a strategic partnership with the Tron Foundation, which raised concerns among the Steem community about the potential for further centralization and loss of decentralization.
