The song and it's music video became instant successes. It became a number 3 hit in Billboard Hot 100, where it became a 2x platinum single in the US. It also became a global number 1 hit including UK, where it was platinum. It's music video, despite being released during the early days of YouTube has managed to earn more than 500 million views.
